I remember the first charity day. The idea was to always do it annually but I struggled to find a venue, I asked and approached so many private land owners and everyone said no. I remember finishing off a job over at and I asked if he would host me as a joke, thinking he’ll say no, but he didn’t even hesitate to say yes. And that was the beginning. Thanks bro.

This was December 2024, one of the coldest and wettest months of the year. Days before Christmas. I could have easily not done it. Everything including time and the elements was against me. I had only 2 weeks to plan.

The location had no shops close by, we were practically in the middle of nowhere. I had to do a big Costco shop to make sure people got refreshments and I had to beg my mum to cook so people had some food. Little did I know, we would start a tradition of mum’s Jollof 3 years down the line 😅 Thanks Mum.

I did all of this without knowing if anyone would turn up. It was my first year. I did not have a phone book of customers. I just put it on hoping to raise anything for charity. What a show we put on. Turned out to be an absolute wicked day and you just had to be there to witness it.

October 17th 2026. We go again. 11+ Detailers come together. Families come together. Mayor in partnership/ attendance. Free entry.

This is history in the making.

Without them, the car wash simply wouldn’t be possible!

So when you see them on the day, show them some love, say hello and give them a BIG THANK YOU! 🙏🏾❤️

Why does GT Clean have a Charity Day?

This interview takes it right back to where it started.

It was filmed at our very first charity day in 2024, during my first year in business, where I explained why giving back was something I wanted to build into GT Clean from the very beginning.

From my grandad starting a non-profit community radio station in Ghana, to my dad continuing his work, they have been non profit their whole lives and giving back to the community is something I grew up seeing first hand.

When it came to starting my own business, I wanted to carry that forward in my own way.

That first charity car wash was the start.

Now, three years later, we’re getting ready to do it all over again.. only bigger.

17th October. Year 3.

Let’s make it a special one 💙
