Make sure to keep your rain channels / scuttle area at the bottom of the windscreen clear this winter! When blocked, this can cause water to flow inside the vehicle, causing unnecessary expense! 🍂🍁💨

Another day, another fault!

A Haldex Service Overhaul in on the cards for this Faulty Land Rover Freelander 2.

The Haldex Unit is installed so the vehicle can direct power from the front to the rear wheels when traction is limited / lost - and are utilised lots during the winter months!

They need to be serviced in line with Manufactures service guidelines - otherwise they simply won't last! When the filters and fluids are not renewed on time, they are given the opportunity to fill with sludge and burn out the pump.

This particular vehicle required a new pump motor, filter, oil and calibration. This work could have been potentially avoided had we seen the vehicle before this visit, and carried out the manufactures servicing on time, and in line with the schedule, which includes the Haldex oil and filter, at certain ages / mileages.

This was the first time we have seen this particular vehicle, and hopefully will be carrying out the servicing from now on, to hopefully save the owner unnecessary costs moving forwards.

The Corrosion fairies have attacked this Peugeot during the wet weather!

🔧The fault was traced to corrosion on the pins to the (Antilock Braking System) ABS pump hence reading a faulty wheel speed signal from one of the wheels. 🔧

This in turn was subsequently illuminating the ABS fault lamp and causing the vehicle to fail it's MOT test.

After all - non functioning ABS is not really what you want at sub 0°C during the winter!

A new ABS module was fitted, along with the plug for the wiring loom with the pins, the module was programmed and coded using our Peugeot Diagbox Main Dealer Diagnostic tool. 💻
