The new rules for booking and changing tests, and the dates they start....

We’re putting learners in control of their car driving test bookings 🚘

If you’ve got a booking or you’ll be looking for a test soon, make a note of these dates 📅

31 March 2026 – only 2 changes can be made to a booking

12 May 2026 – only learners are allowed to book a test and make changes

9 June 2026 – learners can move their booked test only to nearby centres

By changing who can book car and change driving tests, we’re aiming to reduce the re-selling of driving tests, giving the power back to learners 💪

Yesterday, we were told about another possible drug for Max. One that isn’t available on the NHS, but one that could help him… give him more time, more moments, more life. But the cost is something we can’t even begin to process — £15,000–£20,000 every single month.😢

But here’s the truth… we will not walk away from that. We will not say “it’s too much.” Because how do you put a price on your child’s life?💙

We will do everything — absolutely everything — to try and get it for him.

Another congratulations today, this time to Kelly-Marie, passing 1st time at Kettering today.
Another one that had their test date changed by the dvsa, but didn't let it phase her, put in the extra practice and passed with flying colour's, even if, along with the examiner you both pretended to me that you'd failed with 4 serious faults.... I couldn't talk for the shock of it 😂 I don't know how you both kept a straight face....
Anyway, I forgive you now, just about.... happy safe driving and see you on the roads 👋 🚘

A massive congratulations to Cerys on passing her test 1st time today, with just a few driver faults.
After having had her test cancelled and date swapped by the DVSA twice in 3 weeks, and ending up with a day full of rain and flooding, she smashed the route, with me along for the ride 😃

Enjoy your newfound freedom, look after that lovely little car, and drive safely. See you on the roads 👋🚗

Another day another Pass... Congratulations to Charlotte on passing her 1st automatic test today with just 1 driver fault.
Charlotte came to me having tried manual lessons and deciding it wasn't for her. We had to work hard on her belief in herself and her anxiety, she practiced relentlessly in her own car between lessons, and today that all paid off. 🎉🚘
It was a pleasure to help you gain your freedom on the roads, happy and safe driving 🚗 😀

A warning to all ⚠️ ⚠️ ⚠️
Make sure your instructor has one of these badges displayed in their windscreen

This should display a photo, name, and instructor number

Understanding them…
The Green badge (ADI)💚 signifies a fully qualified, registered Approved driving instructor meeting DVSA standards

The Pink badge (PDI)🩷 indicates a potential driving instructor (trainee) who is taking paid lessons but is under supervision until they have completed their qualification

One of these badges should be displayed, if not politely ask if you can see it!!

Why is this important….
Legally we are allowed to be paid for lessons
The car you're learning in will have the appropriate learner insurance to cover your lessons
We are on a register and have up-to-date DBS checks for the pupils' safety and have checks to ensure we are doing a professional job and following a code of conduct

After hearing some horror stories lately of pupils who may be experiencing the increased problem of illegal driving instructors out there, just a simple check that all pupils can do to make sure they are getting taught as professionally and safely as possible

If you are unsure about your driving instructor you can also check and verify them on the Gov.uk website

🎄So that's a wrap for the Christmas break...thank you to all my students for your hard work and determination this year.
Congratulations to all those who have passed their test this year.. including my daughters 1st time pass.
And for all those awaiting your tests for January and February, I'll see you next week for our final push to get you on the roads independently
