Bold Venture Scouts in Darwen, Lancashire have just picked up the second of two lightweight minibuses to better support drivers without D1 licenses, and allow the vehicles to be hired out more regularly to local community organisations to raise funds for their continued operation.

Both examples are throughly modern and EURO6 compliant, with the 17 seat Peugeot Boxer granting option to carry wheelchairs and the 12 seat Ford Transit having some cargo space and flexible seating for longer journeys - the first of which is planned to the home of scouting on Brownsea Island, Poole.

They’ve retired a venerable Mk7 Transit (another vehicle we supplied many years ago) that’s provided stirling service, and after a cosmetic and mechanical refresh is likely destined to become part of our hire / loan fleet in due course.

We recently worked with Spellman Care to supply an upgraded vehicle for their network of care homes, based locally just over the border in Yorkshire.

Moving from a 9 Seater wheelchair accessible vehicle to another to the same specification is sometimes difficult as this style of vehicle (classed as a M1 passenger car) are very rare to find on the used market.

The new vehicle, a Fiat rather than a Peugeot (these are also badged up as Citroens and more recently Vauxhall's) whilst looking very similar on the outside has a greater set of features that make it ideal for this application; with a low height fold out side step, front cargo area, air-suspension, rear air-conditioning a diesel heater, upgraded seats & a premium internal lift giving room for 2x wheelchairs.

We've since sourced and sold a second 'Sister' example to this and are currently preparing their previous vehicle for re-sale to ensure it goes on to provide many more years of service in a similar commercial context - specifically they are able to be operated without any additional driving and operating license, no speed limiters and are not subject to Tachograph or PSV regulation… all whilst being flexible enough to accommodate multiple wheelchair users in comfort.

Ford Transit minibuses with the dual front passenger / 18 seat configuration are rare to find… even more so when you add in a factory power sliding door, which was only offered for a short period late in the MCA variant production run and is very much sought after.

This vehicle also features factory navigation and the later Sync 4 screen, switchable driver assist features, the more powerful 165ps engine and is PSV certified with a digital tachograph and ready to go to work.

Currently registered as a 17 seater with the nearside rear single removed, this can be added in and the vehicle reverted back to its original configuration on request (M3 class - D License required).

Looking for a premium lightweight minibus ready for the return to school in September? If so then we've this stunning high spec example that's ready to go - with under 6,000 miles on the clock and upgraded to include a Ricon internal lift and 3x wheelchair positions.

With news of our new Mercedes-Benz Arobus supply partnership published and products on site ready to go - we thought we'd share some updates on the inbound Power Door equipped variant that's currently on-the-water.

This model shares the key specifications elements with our existing stock, with the addition of course of the BCE sourced door unit and an under-dash fridge - with side skirts, colour coding and exterior brightwork to be fitted once it lands in the UK and registered on our demo fleet.

Looking to know what it was like to collect a new Ford Transit Mk7 Minibus back in period - this pristine sub-15,000 mile example is about as close as you can probably get in 2026 with all the key touch-points without wear and a general feeling of it being almost box fresh!

PSV Certified with digital tachograph, freshly serviced, cosmetically prepared and looking every bit as good as you would expect - FT61 DVB is ready to go to work ...but as it doesn't attract VAT would also make an ideal vehicle for non-commercial operators looking for the very best version of this well proven and still relevant model.
