Photodump of the last couple of days. Asked by a customer to attend to his rally car in preparation for the historic monte. Turns out space is tight in Monaco and the locals don't like you working in thier underground garages so we found a spot by the sea. Much better than day 1, at the country club in the rain. Did a couple of laps of the gp circuit in the rental. Had tea by the harbour. *Thank Christ I wasn't paying*. Absolute stunner of 'le porsche'. Bit of a short notice job for a lovely gentleman who hasn't had it long and turned it into a rally car. Not many would take a 1966 911 sc and throw gravel tyres on, but in his own words,'cars are tools'. At Cogs, we couldn't agree more. We did some wiring modifications for the front spot/driving lamps, fitted a battery isolator, and wired in a heated front windscreen. If you've an old porsche or are converting something into a rally car, don't hesitate to reach out.
Fingers crossed he gets a good result in the ilkley rally this weekend.

Another oldie from this week. A 1964 Mercedes Pagoda. Few bits looked at. It's enjoyable working on these older cars as components can be taken apart and repaired rather than just fit new.

When was the last time you saw one of these! Mk1 Vauxhall Astra. Absolute time warp condition. Bit of diagnosis on reverse and interior lights. Job jobbed.

Productive couple of sessions on kermit. Very fast, very noisy . We've been going through the engine bay wiring connections and removing the old spade and non waterproof connections and replacing them with deutsch dt series waterproof automotive connectors to stop the rot and prevent breakdowns. We're also doing some mechanical odds and sods like re routing the remote oil filter pipes to stop touch conditions with the chassis helping reduce nvh issues and replacing fuel filler pipes due to being perished. If you're lucky enough to own an ultima or any kit car and need some bits doing, don't hesitate to reach out.

Poorly porsche Friday. Been abit of an ongoing concern this one, with us being a one man band we (I) get busy quick, and the time the customer had the car available was a juggling act. It's had an ongoing running concern with a camshaft fault flagging up. A long diag later (voltmeter, oscilloscope etc), we found that at the hands of a previous owners mechanic, the trigger for the rh Bank cam sensor was bent. Fault now fixed. Customer giggling like a school kid at Christmas with the power from the v8 twin turbo.
If your porsche is poorly, give us a shout.

Quick nip out to for a car show set up by east lancs mini club. Was expecting the usual old ford's, triumphs, minis etc. Turned out I was wrong. 2 F40s, 1 Enzo, 1 carrera gt (not pictured). As well as a plethora of other rare machinery. Definitely going again next year.

It's snow joke this having your own business stuff. Got snowed on 3 times while doing a leaky radiator on a 2014 renault trafic. Not a nice job, made slightly worse by the weather. Still, job done, customer back on the road, and we're home and warm.
