❌ That was never going to work…..
📞 Customer got in contact with us after having a DPF specialist come out to sort the blocked DPF on his Vauxhall Astra, after adding a bottle of additive to the fuel and giving the car a run on the motorway the DPF was still blocked.
👨🏼💻 On arrival we ran a quick check of the codes which brought up two codes for DPF pressure being out of range.
Live data showed the DPF soot level at 255% but more importantly the DPF pressure was 2psi at idle, and over 7psi at 2500rpm. A manual pressure check showed the pressure sensor readings to be correct.
With these pressure readings no amount of fuel additive or hard driving would of got the ecu to start the regeneration process, and if a regeneration had taken place then it’s highly likely damage would of been done to the DPF.
🧽 After running all our necessary checks and diagnostics we performed a two stage chemical clean of the DPF to wash out the excess soot, we then went out for a drive with the customer to check the live diagnostics under real world driving conditions to ensure everything was working as it should.
DPF clear, codes clear, customer happy 😃
