Some news about the future of GT101...
When we took on the responsibility of continuing GT101 following the incredibly sad and unexpected loss of its founder, Dave Jones, we made ourselves one simple promise: to do everything we could to protect both the business and the legacy that had been built through years of passion, hard work and dedication.
This was never simply about continuing a business. It was about making sure something truly special didn't disappear. Because some legacies are simply too important to be allowed to fade away.
Many of you may already know that our connection with Dave goes back much further than GT101 itself. Around 17 years ago, Dave and Dave Moore worked together at what was then ROUSH Technologies, later becoming Revolve / mountune, where they worked on programmes including the Ford GT, Mustang and Ford-endorsed road car performance parts. What began as a professional relationship grew into a lasting friendship that continued long after Dave founded GT101.
That connection is what made taking on the responsibility of continuing GT101 such a deeply personal decision for all of us.
It's also why we're incredibly pleased that Dave's wife, Marion, who stood beside him from the very beginning of GT101 and worked tirelessly to keep the business moving forward throughout his illness, will continue to play an important role. Many of you will already know Marion, and she'll continue to be a familiar face (and voice) and an integral part of GT101 moving forwards. Her knowledge, dedication and understanding of the business are invaluable, and we're delighted she'll remain part of its future.
We also want to reassure every existing GT101 customer that current work, ongoing projects, servicing commitments and customer support remain a priority. If you've trusted GT101 with your vehicle, you can continue to do so with complete confidence.
Our original intention was to continue operating from the existing premises. We genuinely hoped we could keep everything exactly where it had always been. However, after carefully exploring every possible option, it became clear that creating a more sustainable operating model was the only way to give the business the strongest possible future. Rather than directing resources into maintaining premises that no longer best serve the business, we can now invest them into the things that matter most - our customers, our products and the future of GT101.
So, whilst it wasnāt an easy decision to make, weāre confident itās the right one.
Over the coming weeks, GT101 will be relocating to our established, purpose-built facility in the Midlands, where Dave Mooreās long-term friends and fellow GT101 co-owners Tim Ross and Max Marshall have spent many years building a successful design, engineering and manufacturing business.
Although the address is changing, everything that makes GT101 what it is remains exactly the same. The commitment to quality, customer support, ongoing service and maintenance of the Ford GT and Mustang, together with ensuring access to replacement and performance parts, remains central to everything we do.
Just as importantly, we're committed to preserving the knowledge, experience and attention to detail that Dave built GT101's reputation on.
In fact, this move gives us opportunities that simply weren't possible before.
With significantly more workshop space, modern manufacturing equipment and additional design and engineering resources on-site, we'll be expanding the range of services GT101 can offer while investing even more time into developing new products and refining existing ones.
Perhaps most exciting of all, our combined design and manufacturing capability will allow us to recreate discontinued components that are no longer available - helping to keep more Ford GTs and Mustangs on the road for many years to come.
Some of you will already know us through this business, AROS Group / 09Design. Over the years we've designed and manufactured performance products for enthusiasts as well as supporting a number of respected names within the industry behind the scenes. Bringing those resources together with GT101 gives us the opportunity to invest even more into the future of the brand whilst preserving the identity, character and values that made it so respected in the first place.
Most importantly, this move gives GT101 the best possible opportunity not just to survive, but to continue growing for many years to come, securing its long-term future.
To everyone who has supported the business over the years from the staff to the suppliers and of course, our customers - thank you. Whether you've been here since day one or have only recently discovered the brand, your loyalty, encouragement and continued support have made this next chapter possible.
We firmly believe that the greatest tribute we can pay to Dave is not to stand still, but to ensure the business he built continues to thrive, continues to innovate and continues to serve the community he cared so deeply about.
Daveās story doesnāt end here.
It's simply the beginning of the next chapter.
The same passion.
The same values.
The same commitment to doing things properly.
Built on the foundations Dave laid.
And with an even stronger foundation for the future.
We can't wait to show you what comes next!
Please note: All existing customer bookings will be serviced from the current GT101 site until mid-September. Your patience whilst we transition the business thereafter is appreciated, with all operations expected to recommence at our new home from mid-late October.
