🏁 Built for the stages, not just to look good. 🏁
Fresh out of the workshop is David Duncan's No.52 2005 Subaru WRX STI.
This isn't a garage queen. It's a proper rally car that has spent years doing exactly what it was built to do, taking impacts, hard landings, vibration and plenty of abuse on the stages.
By the time it arrived with us, there was damage across multiple panels, the rear spoiler had suffered extensive cracking, and the front passenger side had taken a significant hit.
The goal wasn't to hide the damage.
The goal was to repair it properly.
Every damaged panel was pulled, aligned, repaired and refinished. The front passenger side required extensive jigging, pulling, welding and metalwork to return everything back where it should be. A new front wing was fitted and painted, the rear quarter and doors were repaired, and the spoiler was reinforced to improve durability over the original design.
While the car was apart, the front crash bar was modified with weight saving and performance in mind, and the front bumper was reworked to improve airflow and allow for a permanently fitted towing eye.
No shortcuts. No quick fixes. No filler over problems.
Just proper fabrication, welding, panel repair and preparation carried out with the intention of getting the car ready for its next race.
The photos show the story better than words ever can.
From battered rally car... To a rally car ready for the next battle. 💪
