Wow wow wow THANK YOU all so much for your support so far, I will forever be grateful! I think it’s fair to say that we have taken over the internet this week!
My team have been absolutely blown away by the sheer number of people backing us here at Bardon Truck Park!! I know that when the trucking industry come together on times such as this then it is just magical ❤️ Genuinely we are so grateful for your help in standing up to these bullies! Thanks again.
🟢🟢IF YOU CAN, PLEASE COME AND HAVE FREE PARKING AND A DRINK ON OUR LAST DAY, YOU WILL BE MOST WELCOME AS ALWAYS (subject to availability of course just give us a call on the day) - 5TH MARCH🟢🟢
I am now aware of this video (which has since been deleted) that a local parish councillor had made outside our yard the other day - Ironically this is the closest he has ever been to the truckstop - I certainly know that he hasn’t once come to visit me that’s for sure! (You know, at our thriving local business which started up within his parish afew years ago when truckers were classed as Hero’s!). I’d of welcomed the opportunity for a discussion & site visit from him to put our point across rather than 1 sided debate. Maybe with his passion we could find alternatives?
Back then, 5 years ago, planning permission was granted after an application had been made for temporary permission. Note: No objections was lodged throughout this process. Yes we did change the entrance to what was originally asked for and subsequently over the time that had to be changed again. I have had many hurdles to overcome getting things right but all things that could be fixed/changed, and my planning & legal team have complied with anything required along the process. My rights to appeal stages etc allowed for us to carry on operating further until decisions had been made. To brand us illegal makes us sound like criminals! As business flourished we accommodated more truckers and with our teams great onsite management it has all worked well with providing our service to you.
Over 2 weeks I attended every single day at that public inquiry and this chap in this video never turned up even once.
I class any roadway or carpark anywhere to have some element of risk regardless of any vehicle type. The element of risk could be reduced by the implementation of crossing points, signage etc further into the carpark that I had suggested to our neighbouring Charnwood Arms which were all denied.
Ask yourself, if someone posted a video like this outside of your ‘home’ without speaking to you direct first for solutions then how would you feel?
We are supporting the trucking industry, and they are evidently supporting us 💪🏻 so thank you all one more.
Please tell the non-truckers in our comments below just how much we are NEEDED!
