Here at Ribble Tech, we carry out two types of MOT - Class 4️⃣ and Class 7️⃣

There is sometimes 🤷🏼‍♂️confusion on what vehicles, come under what class 🛻🚚🚌🚗🛺

Here’s a quick explanation 🗣️

🔎 Class 4️⃣- A Class 4 MOT is the most common vehicle inspection, required for cars, smaller vans, motor caravans, and dual-purpose vehicles with up to 8 passenger seats or a design gross weight (DGW) not exceeding 3,000 kg 🏋🏻

🔎 Class 7️⃣- A Class 7 MOT is a mandatory road safety test for light commercial vehicles weighing between 3,000kg 🏋🏻‍♂️ and 3,500kg 🏋🏽‍♀️ gross weight, such as large vans.
