So... What does an EV charger company do at CarFest?
Quite a lot, actually.

Our EV Heroes team headed to CarFest Silverstone 2026, supporting the fantastic Chris Evans Charity and getting stuck into everything the event had to offer.

Created by Chris Evans, CarFest is the UK’s largest family fundraising festival, which took place at Silverstone Circuit, Northamptonshire, from 28 to 30 August 2026.

From meeting potential partners and exploring new opportunities to networking with some brilliant people across the automotive and EV industries, it was three days well spent.

And of course, Benji was there representing the EV Heroes team, so naturally we had to grab a few photos.

We have put together a selection of our favourite moments from the event. Take a look.

Does fast charging damage your EV battery? ⚡

It’s one of the most common questions EV drivers ask and the answer isn’t quite as simple as yes or no.

Using a rapid charger occasionally is unlikely to cause a problem. Modern EVs are designed to manage charging speeds and battery temperature to help protect the battery.

However, relying heavily on rapid charging over a long period, particularly in very hot conditions or regularly charging to 100%, can contribute to faster battery degradation.

🔋 For everyday charging, slower home charging is generally kinder to the battery.
⚡ Save rapid charging for when you need the convenience.
🚗 And remember, every EV and battery is different, so it’s always worth checking the manufacturer’s recommendations.
