Great to see a positive spin on the budget. Well done Tav's Cars

Following the budget yesterday there has been news that Private Hire companies are being forced to charge VAT on fares. This relates to the big national chains as they have been avoiding paying 20% VAT via a loophole but the mainstream media won't talk about that.

Tav's Cars Ltd are a family business and we are all employed by the company. We pay VAT at the standard amount so there will be no changes or increased fares as a direct result of this change.

We can only hope that those giant companies that have been avoiding the tax and underpaying their drivers for so long will held to account in the future.

What annoys you when you hire a car from one of the mainstream car hire companies? I can list a few things...Paying a deposit... being sold additional stuff I don't want and made to feel bad for saying no...waiting around at the desk for someone to find keys for a different vehicle to the one I thought I'd booked....calling up and finding there's no one to talk to when I need a question answered...Having to get to their location or from it once I've dropped the car back....all this time and money all amounts up...Having to hire a whole weekend because they are closed on Sundays...finding out I can only drive the car to the end of the road before paying an excess mileage fee...the list goes on.

As the booking and payment is made in advance through Turo you won't be standing waiting for us to fill in a load of paperwork and no one will be selling you additional insurances - because everytime you hire you are insured already and covered in the event of breakdown - you just collect the car and go. And the mileage is unlimited - no hidden charges for going over a daily limit etc. The car in the picture is the one you get, not a "similar to" car.
