💍 Wedding Mode: ON!

🚨 CRAIG at ELITE DRIVER TRAINING
IS NOW CLOSED! 🚨

It’s time to park the dual controls, put the keys away and swap the driving seat for the wedding aisle! 😂💍❤️

Craig Elite Driver Training is now closed while I take a little time out for my upcoming wedding. 🥂🎉

📩 All messages, enquiries and lesson requests will be picked up and dealt with as soon as I’m back monday 7th September.

A massive thank you for your patience and continued support — and hopefully I’ll return with a wedding ring, a very happy wife and probably even more grey hairs! 😂💍

Craig at Elite is temporarily parked… wedding mode activated! 🚗💨💒

See you all soon! 🖤❤️

🚗 BAY PARKING — THEN vs NOW! 😂

Back in the day at Chesterfield Test Centre, bay parking was done in those diagonal bays… fast forward to today and the bays have had a little makeover! 😅

Now we’re working with the normal straight bays, but the goal is still exactly the same — good observations, accurate steering and getting the car safely into the bay. 👀🚘

Here’s Liv putting it into practice with a forward bay park. 👏🏼

Funny how things change… but the examiner still wants the same thing — safe, controlled and accurate driving! ✅ 🖤❤️

Not always the learner! 👀

Two clips. Two different situations. And in BOTH of them… it was the other driver who got it wrong! 🤦🏻‍♂️

It’s so easy to look at a learner car and automatically think “they must have done something wrong” — but that’s not always the case.

Ethan stayed calm, dealt with what was happening and we talked through exactly why he wasn’t in the wrong.

🚗💨 Learners are learning…
👀 Other drivers still need to look!
And sometimes the dual controls aren’t the biggest thing needed… it’s patience from everyone else! 🖤❤️

🖤❤️ FIRST TIME PASS ❤️🖤

Huge congratulations Marlie — what a way to finish the week and start the weekend! 🥳🍸

Enjoy that well-earned feeling… you’ve only gone and done it! 🚗💨👏🏼

I told you you’d do it and you even brought all the family along so no pressure 😂

You’ve been amazing from start to finish and you well and truly deserved it congratulations 👏🏼👏🏼

Give the big stuff some room! 🚛↔️🚗

One thing we’re explaining to Ellie here is why you sometimes need to give large vehicles extra space on a roundabout.

A lorry, bus or other large vehicle may need more than one lane to safely negotiate the roundabout — especially when turning.

Don’t get caught thinking “that’s my lane, I’m going!” 😬

👀 Look
🧠 Anticipate
↔️ Give them room
⏳ Be prepared to wait

Remember… being right doesn’t make you safer!

Sometimes the best driving decision is simply giving the bigger vehicle the space it needs and letting it get round safely. 👍🏼

Plan for what they might do, not just what they’re doing right now. 🖤❤️

FIRST TIME AT WHITT MOOR 😳

Charley takes on Whitt Moor roundabout for the very first time… and gets to see exactly what we see on a daily basis!

🚗 Cars changing lanes
🚗 People drifting across lanes
🚗 And plenty going on to keep those observations working overtime!

The important lesson? Don’t let someone else’s lane change put you off your own plan. Stay calm, keep checking, know where you need to be and deal with what’s actually happening around you.

Whitt Moor… welcome to the real world of driving! 😅

And yes… this is exactly why we practise it! 🖤❤️

🚑 BLUE LIGHTS & SIRENS — WHAT DO YOU DO? 🚑

Here’s Evie showing exactly what we want to see 👏🏼

An ambulance approaches with blue lights and siren on, and rather than panic, she stays calm, checks what’s around her and pulls safely to the side to allow it through. 👌🏼

And remember… you DON’T:
❌ Go through a red light
❌ Mount the kerb
❌ Drive onto the pavement
❌ Put yourself or anyone else in danger

Your job is simply to stay calm, make progress safely where you can, and give the emergency vehicle as much room as safely possible.

🚨 Let the emergency vehicle do the rest!

And have you ever wondered why AMBULANCE is written backwards on the front of the bonnet? 🤔

It’s so that when the driver looks in their rear-view mirror, the word appears the correct way round — allowing them to recognise an ambulance quickly and react appropriately. 🚑💨

Another little bit of knowledge that could make a BIG difference on the road.

Calm head. Safe decision. Let them through. 🖤❤️

Is it just us, or does it feel like learner drivers are getting less patience from other road users lately? 🤔

This driver pulled straight out on us, and it’s something we’re seeing more and more during lessons. Remember, every experienced driver was once the one with L plates.

A little patience costs nothing, but it can make a huge difference to someone’s confidence and safety. 🚗❤️

Have you noticed driving standards changing recently, or is it just us? Let us know in the comments. 👇
