This isn’t just any old Fiesta… this is GHQ Driving School learning machine 🚗📚😂 We’ve looked after this little Fiesta for a good few years now, so it’s always nice to see a familiar face roll back onto the Garage on Wheels.

This visit was for its annual service, along with a new lower arm to keep it driving exactly as it should. 🔧 And let’s face it… a driving school car definitely earns its keep. 😂 All those lessons, hill starts, clutch control and the occasional “BRAKE!!” 😳🤣 Another year serviced, repaired and ready to teach the next batch of Chester’s drivers. 💙

Time for Timmy’s 6-monthly oil change 🚐🛢️Because apparently spending all day fixing everyone else’s cars doesn’t get you out of maintaining your own 😂

Timmy lives a HARD life. He’s loaded up with tools, parts, jacks and approximately 97 things Jason might need “just in case” 😭 He’s constantly stopping, starting, pottering between jobs and basically carrying an entire garage around Chester.

So every 6 months, without fail, he gets fresh oil. 🫶🏼

Why so often? Because oil doesn’t stay lovely forever. Over time it degrades, gets contaminated and becomes less effective at protecting the engine. Fresh oil helps reduce wear, keeps everything properly lubricated and gives expensive bits like the turbo a much happier life.

Could we leave it longer? Probably.

Would Jason sleep at night knowing the oil had been in there longer than 6 months? Absolutely bloody not. 😂

Apparently Jason sending me the photos does not automatically mean I remember to upload them… who knew? 😂🤦🏼‍♀️ So here’s Tuesday’s slightly late garage-on-wheels catch-up 🚐🔧

First up was a service, and this is exactly why our services include a proper vehicle inspection 👀
While Jason was underneath, he found the CV boots had split and the shock absorber had basically retired from absorbing anything at all 😂 Next stop, the BMW Z4, which was treated to a pair of new VANOS solenoids ✅ And finally, a VW Up! with a reverse light fault, diagnosed as needing a new reverse switch.

Servicing, finding problems before they become bigger problems, repairs and diagnostics… all in a day’s work for Jason. 🫶🏼 Meanwhile I’ll try to work on the highly technical task of remembering to upload the photos he sends me. 😂

Our Bank Holiday was a tad wild… and there was absolutely no rest for Jason 😂🔧 Thankfully, our first customer Pete understood the assignment and got his bake on… making us homemade chocolate brownies 🤤🍫Now THAT is how you keep your mechanic motivated 😂👏🏼

Then it was straight into:

🚐 Combo van, new EGR valve
⚡ Connect van, new alternator, tensioner & belt
🚗 Hyundai Ioniq, new window regulator
💻 BMW, finished the day with a diagnostic

So while everyone else was relaxing with a Bank Holiday beverage… Jason was powered by spanners, stubborn bolts and brownies 😂 Bringing the garage to you… even on Bank Holiday chaos days! 🔧💙

And CERTAINLY not the weather app, that thing’s basically a lucky dip at this point. 🎰🤣

So it’s currently Jason vs 8 spark plugs vs the Great British weather. 😂

One of our lovely customers dropped these off for Zoe Speed today 🥹🌹 Mrs MacLaren, you are honestly the most generous! 🥹🫶🏼

Things like this always catch us off guard because, to us, we’re just doing our job; turning up, getting things sorted and trying to make life a little easier by fitting around work, kids and everything else that comes with it. 💙

Car trouble is stressful enough without having to rearrange your whole day, so if bringing the garage to you takes even a little bit of that stress away, then we’re happy.

The flowers were completely unnecessary… but SO SO appreciated. 🥹🌹We really do have the loveliest customers. 💙

Anyone else’s mechanic whip out the Castrol Grease Spray and do all your locks, catches and hinges as part of the service routine? 👀

No? Didn’t think so. 😂

It might only be a little thing, but this is exactly the sort of stuff Jason does without being asked. While he’s going around the car, everything gets a bit of attention not just the oil and filters. 🔧 Keeping locks, hinges and catches lubricated helps stop them drying out, sticking and becoming a problem later on.

The little things are still part of doing the job properly. 🫶🏼

Today’s garage on wheels had a bit of everything 😍🔧

We started with a Range Rover Velar having the full brake treatment front and rear discs & pads. 👌🏼Then onto the Amarok to adjust the rear shoes and handbrake and get everything working as it should. 🛠️

And then… something a little different, but VERY much up Jason’s street 😂

A Transporter badge change! Now, anyone who knows Jason knows there was absolutely no chance he was just pulling the old badge off and eyeballing the new one. 🤣

Out came the masking tape so he could mark the exact position and spacing of the original badge before removing it. Old badge off, everything cleaned up properly, then the new black badge fitted perfectly in its place. 👌🏼

Because apparently badge alignment is serious business. 😂📏 It might only be a little cosmetic job, but it’s the same attitude Jason has with everything he does if it’s worth doing, it’s worth doing properly. 💙

And quite frankly, give that man something to measure, line up, clean, adjust or generally fiddle with and he’s living his best life. 🤣🫶🏼

From full sets of brakes to handbrake adjustments and even a bit of badge surgery… just another wonderfully random day at Speed Industries Ltd 😂
