Just a quick post to share some information about what is growing in the fields between Christleton and Littleton where the footpath goes from Pepper St to Pearl Lane.

There is a newly cultivated strip along the footpath which has been sown with wild flowers which should make for a pretty walk when in bloom! 🌼 The rest of the field is cropped with wheat 🌾

Someone recently was walking along where the flowers have been sown and said they thought the footpath had been widened. This is not the case so please please do not walk anywhere off the usual footpath as this is where crops/wild flowers are growing. Whilst establishing it may look like grass.

Please keep to the footpath - dogs included - highlighted in green. Letting your dogs run where crops are growing means their waste gets left in the field and crops can get trampled. Crops are of course there to feed people.

Sadly, on another note, someone keeps throwing bags of dog waste over the hedge into the crop along Little Heath Road. Please stop doing this and either take it home with you or put it in a bin!

It is with great sadness we share the news that one of our drivers passed away earlier this week after a 2 year battle with cancer.

Many of you who came across John (or Double Dutch as he was widely known!) will remember he always loved a chat and a joke!

John had a big heart, we always looked forward to his secret santas each year which he and Angela organised for the whole team!

John joined the team in 2018 driving the two wagons pictured after a long driving career. Trucking was his big love in life along with his beloved wife and dogs. He will be very missed by us, the team, and many of our customers.

Rather than a funeral, John has requested people celebrate his life in their own way. John has also picked 3 charities for people to donate to on his behalf should they wish to:

• Border Collie Trust GB
• Lucie's Animal Rescue
• Maggie's Wirral supporting Merseyside & Cheshire

John’s wife has set up a bank account for this or you can donate direct. Please contact us for bank details.

Sending our love and support to John’s family and friends at this sad time.
