Cornerstone Classic Cars are delighted to offer this quite extraordinary Mercedes-Benz S500 Long Wheelbase, a beautifully preserved example of Mercedes-Benz’s flagship luxury saloon, having covered a mere 10,396 miles in over 23 years.
Occasionally, a motor car comes along with a history that is every bit as special as its condition. This is most certainly one of those cars.
Supplied new in 2003 to a gentleman residing in Central London, this magnificent S500 was purchased not for everyday transport, but for the enjoyment of life’s more special occasions.
Its original owner reserved the Mercedes for prestigious summer events, including days at Royal Ascot and similar outings. It was never subjected to the rigours of winter motoring and, when not in use, was carefully stored in a heated underground garage.
As a result, the car accumulated exceptionally little mileage, enjoying a sheltered existence that few luxury saloons of this era could ever have experienced.
Following the gentleman’s passing, ownership was transferred to his wife, although the Mercedes remained unused. It was subsequently acquired by a close family friend, its present keeper, who recognised just how unusual and beautifully preserved the car had become.

The exterior presents beautifully, with superb looking paintwork, bright chrome detailing, exceptionally clean headlamp lenses and original Mercedes-Benz alloy wheels.

The light leather upholstery, polished wood veneers, carpets, door trims, switches and controls all display the sort of condition one would hope to find in a motor car that has travelled so few miles having experienced these cars when they were new this still smells new inside. Having no need for an air freshener. This really is like stepping back in time 23 years. It’s actually remarkable.
Even the original Mercedes-Benz telephone equipment remains present, providing a delightful reminder of an era when the S-Class represented the very pinnacle of automotive technology and sophistication. The remote for the rear entertainment system is still present in its original box and looks relatively unused. As do the phones having the plastic covers on the screens still present. Sadly there is only one key as the spare was misplaced by the previous owner.
