UPDATED - 17:30PM (18/02) - 5The whole of Essex is covered by a Red weather warning from 10am to 3pm today (Friday 18th February).
A red warning indicates a significant danger to life, as extremely strong winds have the potential for damage to structures and flying debris. Winds in excess of 80mph are anticipated.
The advice is very simple β please stay at home.

πΊ QE2 and The Orwell Bridge will be closed
πΊ Essex Country Parks, Cressing Temple, Jaywick Martello and Mills will be closed
πΊ Rail passengers are being advised to travel only if their journey is essential
πΊ Greater Anglia, like many operators is reducing its train service tomorrow
πΊ Essex County Fire and Rescue Service is advising residents to ensure property and garden furniture is well secured and check in on any vulnerable neighbours and family members to make sure they are safe.
πΊ We have a small number of flood alerts in place this morning for parts of the Suffolk and Essex coastline.
πΊ ACL Essex Centres across the county will be closed. If you have an exam booked, ACL teams will contact you to make alternative arrangements.
πΊ All Essex Libraries as well as mobile libraries will be closed Essex Library Services Services will reopenn tomorrow (19th February)
πΊ Blue Badge appointments are being rescheduled
πΊ Face to face registration appointments for births, deaths and marriage notices cancelled. They will be re-arranged
πΊ Park and Ride is currently running but this is subject to change.
πΊ A number of Active Essex (ActivATE) clubs are not running today. Please check the provider for further information.
πΊ We, as well as Essex County Fire and Rescue Service and Essex Police are experiencing a high volume of calls. Please be patient. Only ring 999 if it's an emergency.
