I passed my driving test way before the theory was introduced 😅

Today marks 30 years of the theory test. 🎉

On 1 July 1996, a separate written theory test was introduced, replacing Highway Code questions that had previously been asked during the practical driving test. 📝

3 decades on, it remains a vital part of the driver testing and training regime and makes sure that people have the theory they need to drive safely and responsibly. ✅
