Sprint Series Round 8 was just as mental as we all expected!
In the Lightweight Class, we came into Round 8 ready for a battle; the top 3 were separated by just 8 points! The Heats were intense; you could never tell which way the Championship was going to go! In the final, Toby Mcallister-Brown started in P1, Daniel Campbell in P2 and George Palmer-Mobsby, the man who came into this round leading the Championship, started in P7! Daniel Campbell took the lead for the first 4 laps; on lap 5, Toby fought his way past, and the fighting began! While our leaders were locked in a battle, George was fighting his way through the pack, eventually catching the leaders, slotting into P2, but he just couldn't get past Toby! By the Time Toby crossed the line for the final time this season, he was just 0.774 seconds ahead and put himself at the top of the Championship leaderboard! Just 10 points separated the podium in the end! But Toby managed to find the pace when it mattered!
In the Heavyweights Class, Oliver Bolton looked like he had an absolute blast, as always! Oliver got 2 podiums in the heats and a comfortable win in the final! For someone who only entered 3 rounds and therefore was not in the running for the Championship, he really did just show up, prove his skills and call it a day with a smile on his face! Meanwhile, Keiran Phillpott knew that all he had to do was not be disqualified, and he had secured the Championship win! But of course he didn't just sit back and not try; he still got to be involved in some brilliant scraps on track!
Now we say goodbye to the Sprint Series for a few months over winter! But the Sprint Series will return next spring for more chaos!
