Really happy to be able to announce that we are stocking the new DomiWorks Engineering AJ6/AJ16 8HP adapter plate.

These allow our AJ6 based engines to run the unbeatable 8HP gearbox. There is simply no automatic that touches it.

For the last 12 months we've been running the 8HP on an AJ16 on a different adapter plate we'd been developing. Upon hearing that Domiworks were making one (as I mentioned in one of my videos), we decided to just wait for the Domiworks one to be released. As we've seen and used many of their kits now, we know it'll be absolutely bang on. We've recently used a couple of the Jaguar V12 kits for 8HP conversions, and know there is nothing near the quality.

Naturally, because we've had our little X300 test mule, we've known the relevant harness mods and have offered this into our AJ16 harnesses for the last 12 months! There are at least 15 harnesses out there 8HP ready!

We already stock the oil converter to go from the Jag box, to AN10 oil pipes.

The MaxxECU AJ16 kits we build control the 8HP70 straight out of the box! Buttery smooth gear changes, actual torque reduction, actual throttle blip on our FBW packages. Just like the OEM.

The 8HP70 gearbox is a glorious piece of kit, and is the talking point of many modified cars at the moment. The MaxxECU control allows various different gearbox modes, shifting points, torque control, live modification from within the ECU software. After using the test mule X300, I can tell you that the 8HP suits the AJ16 perfectly.

We've got a number of V12s now running the MaxxECU 8HP system, I’m sure the AJ6 based kits will be even more popular!

We were the first to develop a specific AJ16 harness/ECU system years ago with Swallows Jaguar - Swallows Racing. We wanted a system that was a direct plug-in system - one we sell to a client, post to them, and get it running from often the other side of the planet. Our aim has never been to provide a cheap system, but more a complete solution. Offering better than OEM smooth engine control using all the OEM sensors. On board datalogging, and class leading onboard wideband control allows us to tune the ECU remotely, with ease. More recently our systems go out with modern LSU5.2 lambda. 90% of our clients this year have opted for fly-by-wire. Giving modern reliability, and again, complete control!

Digital speedo conversion, keeping the retro look & feel of the Peugeot Gti!

I use James' K20 converted Pug 309 Gti as a base to convert his mechanical style speedometer to a newer digital style, keeping the classic looks and feels of the OEM cluster.

Naturally these are fully programmable, and can be used in the 309 and indeed the 205gti.

I take it one step further, and have new guage faces made to replicate the originals, only 'all the way up to 11', well, not really, 10, but still! I'm really happy with this conversion, I hope James will be too!

I apologise for not having uploaded anything of late to my socials, I'm spinning plates constantly at the moment. Lots of exciting things going on at the moment, lots of development for some very well respected companies that will be revealed probably next year now. Some SERIOUS hours put in, but with some seriously cool cars!

Thanks to Uncle Spike here for sorting the bracketry and physically getting the speedometer to fit into the OEM cluster. Thanks to Stef for sorting me with some spare clusters for some Beta runs! Thanks also to James for using his car as a Guinea pig!

Massive congratulations to Jordan and his team at Yellow Peril Racing.

Going home with a well deserved result at the Isle of Man Hill Rally.

1st in class and 6th overall, extending their class lead in the British Cross Country Championship.

Jordan is a lovely guy, that genuinely deserves results like these. We can see the work that goes into these machines, the absolute abuse they take requires constant maintenance and repairs.

This absolute weapon runs the BMW M62, coupled to the more and more popular 8HP gearbox. Naturally, all married together with the Maxxecu!

We look forward to following team 'Yellow Peril', and thank them for keeping us updated.

Been waiting for these to hit the mat!

The absolute perfect ECU for a V8!

The perfect AJV8 solution! Can't wait to get building!

An early 900 turbo, 1979 to be exact.

Such an awkward looking car by today's standards. Quirks everywhere. The windscreen is so heavily wrapped, something again these days is just a thing of the past.

Tommy of TR Autos brought this over for us to look at a few bits on the Dyno. He's a fountain of knowledge on any Saabs ( I can confirm, I've told him he is a sick man!) letting me in on various quirks of the early versions! Jackshaft for the water pump for instance on the early 8v engines. The gearbox arrangement feels odd too if you've never come across it!

An old K-Jet system sorting the fuel delivery, and ultimately causing Tommy's visit!

Fantastic car, even if I do immediately try and turn these damn things on using the key that's not there! 🫢🤭

Cool-as-f**k-ometer is all the way around to 11.

Vauxhall Chevette 'HSR Homage' F20C powered.

Not a common sight these days, a Chevette in general. They were certainly more commonplace back when I first started driving. Whenever I get a common 70's car on the Dyno, I'm always amazed at how small they are. I literally had a 24 plate Aston Martin DB11 on the Dyno yesterday, a modern 2 x seater GT car, but the size difference is phenomenal. The Chevette, even with it's HSR panelling, felt miniscule!

Funny how we remember things differently! Or maybe I'm just old!

This little car is well known in the community, from what I can tell it's been built to a fantastic standard, and as I'm lead to believe, is built to HSR specs. It's fitted with a stock F20C Honda S2000 engine, with a set of Jenveys, and a dry sump system.

I'm always a fan of the small details in builds. When the small details are correct, it usually means the rest is, and I won't spend my day tracing wiring faults or reattaching hoses in some manner.

79' is a great year!

Andrew, the current custodian has some plans for some potential competition driving in the old girl. Along with coating some of the parts with Cerakote! Andrew owns and runs Amitec - leaders in preparation and application of coating systems, and the quality of the Cerakoted parts on this car are testament. 😉

Great to see you today Andrew, can't wait to catch up soon - he's promised me a couple of laps at Combe in the car.. and now it's in writing! 🤣

Anyway, howling away, as it should be

Another Maxxecu Race Gen 2 harness built up for Tom & Jack at Swallows Jaguar - Swallows Racing

This is a concentric harness, with Autosport bulkhead connectors.

Destined for something really fun!

It amazes me how many hours these sorts of harnesses sup up. Moving from the CMC to the Superseal was definitely a good move from Maxxecu / Maxxtuning AB for the gen 2 units.

Paddle Shifters on a Budget for your aftermarket wheel?

I video alot of stuff, and rarely do anything with it, as I'm useless!

But heres my take on some paddle shifters. Can be made to work on pretty much any aftermarket wheel with a boss. Uses the M3 / M4 paddles. :-)

8HP, DCT, naturally Maxxecu
