Alex was on top form at Doune Hillclimb - Lcc was by far the quickest on Saturday, qualifying on top spot for the run off. Unfortunately the rain came before his run so zero points scored in the first run off. Dave Tatham managed to qualify his 1100 Firehawk and was 10th in the run off.
Onto Sunday and again Alex was the class of the field, we had made a few damper changes to stabilise the car through the esses which resulted in the car getting close to the pace that we were on the Pirelli’s of last year, our best ever performance on the Avons. Alex qualifing with the only 34second run and a new class record and on top spot. Dave Tatham followed in his progress yesterday with a stunning time of 38.34 winning the 1100cc class. also in the 1100cc class were Richard Summers Alex’s dad and Debbie Dunbar Summers Alex’s Wife in the Summers family Firehawk, Debbie got a new PB with a time of 39.80 and was 5th in the big class.
Run off 2, this time the weather stayed good to us, Scott Moran posted a stunning time of 34.37 very close to Alex’s hill record, Alex had to pull out all the stops and he delivered in style, he was over 0.5s up at Junction, eventually finishing on a 34.29, 0.08s outside his Record and taking the win.
Enjoy the live footage of Alex Summers brilliant run off win.
