How often should I service my car?

🚗 The answer depends on your mileage and how you drive, but as a rule:
🔧 Interim Service – every 6 months or 6,000 miles
⚙️ Full Service – every 12 months or 12,000 miles
🛠️ Major Service – every 24 months or 24,000 miles
Keeping up with your services means fewer breakdowns, better fuel economy, and longer engine life.

Your tyres are your car’s only contact with the road — don’t take them for granted! 🚗
Check your tread depth regularly (minimum 1.6mm, but 3mm is safer for wet roads) and keep your tyre pressure at the recommended level.
A little check now = safer journeys later! 🛞✅

Regular oil and filter changes prevent sludge and avoid big repair bills

Dirty oil can turn to sludge, restricting oil flow, starving bearings, and causing timing chain or turbo damage. Regular oil and filter changes stop sludge forming and keep your engine reliable.

Why it matters
- Protects engine internals and turbos
- Prevents costly repairs

Repairing damaged engines, turbos, or timing systems is far more expensive than servicing your vehicle.

Book an oil change or a full major service with us to keep your vehicle clean, efficient, and dependable. Drop by the garage to arrange a convenient slot or call us on 07768659250.

Keeping Your Engine in Sync! 🚗🔧

We have recently experienced an increase in timing belt replacements because vehicles have exceeded their recommended mileage or age intervals.

Keeping ontop of timing belt
service is crucial:

- Prevent major engine damage by replacing belts at recommended intervals
- Inspect and replace associated components like tensioners and water pumps
- Replace any auxiliary belts that are frayed/cracked

Ready to book your timing belt replacement?
Send us a message, give us a call, or drop by the shop today!

🔧 Fun Fact Friday About the Name JLG Autos! 🚗

When we decided to open a garage, coming up with the right name was harder than we expected.
We had all sorts of ideas flying around – between the two of us, our partners, family, and friends!

But then we realised something pretty cool…
We both have the same initials – JLG. 😄

And just like that, JLG Autos was born!

Sometimes the best ideas are right in front of you.
