Im not normally one to shame another companies work but its becoming a common occurrence and a bit boring putting there work right and to be honest the files that are being flashed onto people's vehicles are a complete joke!!

When you have yet another vehicle come in and asked us to check over a map that was done because they wasnt happy and didnt really get any help or changes after several visits back to them so I pull the file of the ECU and find this half hearted attempt its madness!!! Its compared against a 100% Standard file

I have dropped the file into ECM to make it easier for people instead of winols to see

The file on the left is there file and the file on right is ours the changes to each section is shown via the ■ beside each section if doesent show a ■ beside it the software is showing its 100% standard as manufactured and not changed!!

Now when you tune this type of Vehicle you have to tune ALL the limiters that needs doing as well as the fuel rail pressure and as you have guessed it THE BOOST how you can tune this and not add boost ill never know its absolutely shocking 😂😂

Now when you see a remap offered for £150 you are going to get that value !!! and pay more then that to have it corrected...

Some questions to ask them is... are they "Master" tuners if so they can see the file and alter accordingly or are they a "Slave" tuner who will see absolutely nothing and cant alter anything all they do is send a file to a "Master" who alters it and send it back and they write it on. Also one of the most important questions is what mechanical background do they have are they qualified or times served do they even understand how an engine works and how to interpret live data and logs etc... if they cant answer them questions then why let them work on your vehicle!!!

There is some really good "Slave" tuners out there who are connected to good quality "Master" file providers so im not bashing "Slave" users at all im simply saying there work is only as good as there Master.....

Cheaper is not always better and its 1000% proven here this customer now has a vehicle that actually performs and dont smoke like a train !!!

Not something you see very often an Alfa Romeo Alfasud in for a setup being a dedicated track car and an excellent example. The attention to detail on this car is excellent.

Fueling needed slight adjustments and the timing swung to find the best possible power and torque curve all in all a very nice car with plenty of punch will be fun to drive.

One of the cars in today a Ford Capri it started life as a 1.6 but has since had a 2.1 pinto fitted.

The customer called me last week and was chatting about his car it then became apparent it was fitted with an Accuspark distributor 🙈 this had already chewed 1 Jack shaft so advised the customer to pull that out and bin it before it chewed the new jack shaft and advised him to purchase a Bestek Ignition Crawley system for it.....

Thankfully he listened so today when it come it was a case of just timing the distributor up correctly, balancing the 45's and then it was time for a pull on the dyno which it was found to be a little lean so swapped the jets out and another pull and it was there a healthy 148bhp. For an engine that isnt heavily modified it made decent numbers with a lovely power and torque curve.

Also noticed the viscous fan had left chat and wasnt working so thats going to be sorted by the customer.

All in all a good car that is a work in progress for the new owner thats only had it 3 weeks however its now running nice and safe

I dont often get time or remember to post but a nice Skoda Octavia VRS in today see some really good gains on the dyno. The car was putting out some good numbers standard with a lovely strong pull to the redline so we knew this would be a good one and it didnt disappoint 👌
