That bouncing oil cap is a strong indicator of excessive crankcase pressure, often caused by severe engine blow-by.

In this case, the diagnosis led to an engine replacement.

Catching problems early can sometimes prevent more extensive damage, which is why unusual noises or changes in engine behaviour should always be investigated.
