AGCA - Agricultural and Car Repairs We are a family run business based in Castle Hedingham.

We’ve hit the ground running in 2026 and have already tackled various vehicle issues. It’s been a lot of suspension knocks and tyres, probably because of the condition of the roads at the moment. Also general servicing and vehicle maintenance as we continue to keep your cars in great running order. As always if there is anything we can help with give the workshop a call.

Busy start to the week here, so far we have fixed a coolant leak on a Transit Custom by replacing the thermostat housing. Service on and track rod end replaces on a Discovery 3. Battery replacement on a very nice 96 Corvette. Fixing a snapped bolt on the steering box of a rather nice 66 Beetle. Diagnosing and fixing a parking sensor fault on a mini cooper. Then a few other little jobs as well and it’s only Tuesday 😆

I just realised it’s been ages since I posted on here so maybe it’s time for an update. We have been busy in the workshop and hit the ground running from the off this year. Recently we have seen a lot of suspension issues - probably from the state of the roads at the moment. Also lots of regular maintenance work from servicing to tyres, brakes and timing belts. As always if there is anything we can help with do get in touch.

As mechanics catering for all makes and models we see a lot of different cars. Sometimes we get to work on something a bit special. We replaced the exhaust manifold and gaskets on this beauty after someone had installed one of the gaskets incorrectly which meant it was blowing. The Audi Quattro what a wonderful motor, but tricky to work on. The noise is something else.

It’s been another varied week. We started off with renewing a timing belt on a C-Max and we are ending on a clutch replacement in a Fiat. Various brake issues, coil spring replacements, servicing, mot work and other repairs inbetween. If you have any (car related) problems get in touch we would be more than happy to help.

New year and we are back at it. I thought I would share a few of the jobs we’ve had in this week. We’ve had the normal servicing and MOTs but we have also replaced an abs ring on a BMW to stop the traction cutting in. Completed a little paint job on a wing mirror cover. Replacing an egr valve on an Astra to cure an EML issue. Fault finding and curing wiring issues with parking sensors and some engine sensors. Diagnose and fit a new pressure switch to fix the aircon system on an Audi. Amoung a few other jobs. It’s great to have a diverse working week. 🚗 🚙

To all our lovely customers - thanks for the continued support this year, especially in these difficult times. We are now finished until the new year whilst Paul and myself take a well earned break. We are wishing you a merry Christmas and wonderful new year. We will see you all next year in hopefully easier times. Although we are shut until the 4th as always my mobile is on if you get any desperate car troubles give me a shout and I will do what I can. All the best Andrew

So as we enter Lockdown 2 today I just want to let you know that we are staying open for this period. We are still here if you have any car troubles or breakdowns.

01/10/2020

We would like to let you know we are already experiencing a high volume of MOT bookings coming in. This is most probably because of the 6months extension on MOT tests that happened during lockdown. We would advise everyone to book your test in as soon as possible if you can.

- Mot work on a transit including welding and wiring issues
- Mot, service and tyres on a Honda CRV
