Another side quest Saturday.
Another good friend has had his coilovers sat for months not fitted. He asked if we could help. We booked a day and got him in to assist.
Not too bad to fit in fairness. Didn’t go mad with lowering (plenty left to drop) but being a practical day van was key.
Once lowered Liam sorted some new wheels and we also fitted them.
The old shocks were so rusty 😅
Hard to believe the springs hold up when you see the size difference. 😳
Some builds are a long process…… but everyone has their own take on what they want and need out of said build.

Daniel’s MB6 Civic was in for a service, new window mechanism and MOT.
Window mechanism didn’t have the correct plug fitting, so we took the original one of the old unit and soldered to the new mech, so it was all plug and play.
He’s owned the car for many years and loves it to bits.
So anything it needs it gets.
It’s lovely OEM example that hasn’t been destroyed. Not many like it left nowadays.

Don’t see many S2000’s in Royal Navy Blue Pearl. But we seemed to have had 2 in the space of a few days.
This one like the other the other day is a returning customer, who was in for its annual service and MOT.
Low miles covered so just a simple oil and oil filter and a check over.

We never like to say no to good mates. So parts ordered and arrived.
We set about chopping the doors up…… not a bad outcome. 👌

Weekend car so doesn’t cover many miles, but time still means the fluids should get changed.

Kyle’s S2000 was in for a full major service inc:
Oil, oil filter, spark plugs, air filter, pollen filter, aux belt, coolant, MTF, brake fluid, diff oil, fuel filter and TCT.
The car has been parked up for 7 years. So everything was done for peace of mind as requested by the customer.
We regassed the AC as that wasn’t working.
Kyle also had a new rocker cover to fit, so while we were doing the valve clearances we fitted that for him.
We also carried out a shifter rebuild.

Side quest Sunday 😮‍💨
Another v good mate of ours, asked if we could do some work on his MK1 Golf GTI engine.
Chris bought this car which had been stored for around 4 years. The body, chassis suspension and running gear was all fully refurbished. But the poor engine and wiring had not been done. After seeing what we could do with the Honda’s. Chris wanted us to wave our magic over the Golf’s engine.
We stripped the engine back to a short block, fitted all new gaskets and seals.
Cleaned and painted the block, sump, rocker cover, ancillaries etc.
New belts, filters and a full service.
We replaced all the broken, old damaged wiring and plugs.
It might not look like much was done between the old and new pics. But it looked so much cleaner and showable.
Not bad for a car that’s 42 years old 😎

S2000 came in due to a rattly TCT. Not uncommon but this one was changed less than 10,000 miles ago.
Bad tensioner?
Bad fitting?
Stretched chain?
We couldn’t diagnose any of those to be at fault.
We carried out the TCT mod….. and tested the car, it’s also been away 8 weeks now and the customer hasn’t messaged to say it’s rattling again.
Strange issue we haven’t seen before. But it seems to be fixed.
We also changed the spark plugs while it was in.
They were working ok….. but as you can see they were wearing out.
