I wanted to share with you the sad news of the passing of dad, Steve, on Monday.

He had undergone successful heart surgery on the 2nd February in the Royal Brompton in London for an aneurysm on his aorta.

He was making great progress in recovering and was due to come home this weekend, in which he would have turned 70 on the 14th February, St. Valentine’s Day.

Unfortunately a blood clot formed unexpectedly on Monday afternoon and stopped his heart. The team tried their very best to save him. We’re told he would have been unaware and in no pain.

As you can imagine as a family we are heart broken. He was the greatest dad I could have ever wished for and my best friend.

Thank you to friends for your messages and support at this difficult time, it means so much.

I will post an update with the arrangements in due course once we get dad home and can lay him to rest.
