We had our first little trip out in the van today. It all went well. She matches our duvet cover perfectly 😁

She has been with us for just under a week now and she is thriving and starting to cause chaos.

We picked up the new member of our family yesterday from Eden Animal Rescue and she is a cutie.

She has settled in really well and is really friendly but I have a feeling the chaos is about to commence 😁

Well I've decided to take some time away from Beardyman Bike Repairs starting from the 1st of October. I'm going to have a reset over the autumn and winter to decide what my future plans are for the business.

Thanks for all of your support. I will still be posting stuff on Beardyman Bike Repairs but it will be me riding bikes and not fixing them.

Replaced all alloy ni***es to brass on a wheelset. I was shocked at how corroded they were. They were disintegrating in front of my eyes.

It's called galvanic corrosion and it happens on uncoated or poorly anodised alloy ni***es.

I will not build wheels with alloy ni***es so don't ask 😄 Brass every time.

My Japanese pull saws turned up today. I used to use these before they became popular. I'm looking forward to doing some sawing now 🪚

Just got home from an overnighter at Kielder. Had a little ride out yesterday then found a family walking trail It didn't take me long to get back in touch with my inner child.

Finally did it. I got myself a compressor.

These massive mountain bike tubeless tyres are getting to hard to get seated on the rims without feeling like you have just run a marathon with a fridge on your back. Hopefully this will make it easier for me. Plus I can use it for a bit of carpentry.

I work on all types of bikes. Large, small, folding, rigid, old and new.

I'm now taking bookings from the 18th of August.

The Workshop has been really busy this year. I run an appointment only service but I will always try and help at short notice.
