Replaced all alloy ni***es to brass on a wheelset. I was shocked at how corroded they were. They were disintegrating in front of my eyes.

It's called galvanic corrosion and it happens on uncoated or poorly anodised alloy ni***es.

I will not build wheels with alloy ni***es so don't ask 😄 Brass every time.

Finally did it. I got myself a compressor.

These massive mountain bike tubeless tyres are getting to hard to get seated on the rims without feeling like you have just run a marathon with a fridge on your back. Hopefully this will make it easier for me. Plus I can use it for a bit of carpentry.

The Workshop has been really busy this year. I run an appointment only service but I will always try and help at short notice.

I know this isn't bike related but this was my job in a previous life. I still do a little bit now to keep my hand in and it's a bit more creative than fixing bikes.

These are a set of wardrobes with sliding doors with hanging space and shelving inside. Thankfully I don't have to paint them.

I'm still fixing bikes so if you need your bike sorting out give me a shout.

I will put something on bike related for my next post.

I've been back home from my little trip for just over a week now and the highlight was seeing my daughter in Switzerland.

I do enjoy bike packing but you do need a flexible plan as it's not all plain sailing.

It was cold and wet on the outward leg so i had to buy some thermals but it was hot and hotter on the way back and I had a bag full of thermals to drag home.

One of the side effects of going away for a few weeks is the workshop diary gets booked up, so I'm now taking bookings for the week commencing 27th of July.

Last bit of prep on my bike.

Absolute Black hot chain wax. Takes the worry out of lubing the chain for the first 500 miles then I just have to top it up with liquid wax.

The Workshop is now closed till the week commencing the 29th June.

I'm off on a bit of a solo bike packing trip.

This is the route I plan to ride there maybe be some changes along the way.
