All learner driver!
GOV.UK
Driver & Vehicle Standards Agency
This email is being sent to all learner drivers who currently have a driving test booked.
We recently sent you an email to remind you about our new terms and conditions for booking and managing your driving test.
You are no longer allowed to use unofficial services to search for or manage driving test appointments. We want to be very clear that this includes:
apps, such as (but not limited to) Testi, Test Shift and Beep
websites
browser extensions
It includes any services that:
search for cancellations and notify you about them, even if you complete the booking yourself
automatically book or move your driving test for you
The only legitimate service to use is GOV.UK. Any other app, website or browser extension is not legitimate, despite any claims it might make.
What happens if you use unofficial services
If you use an unofficial service that searches for driving tests for you, we may:
suspend your ability to manage your test online – you will then only be able to make changes or book a new test by phone
cancel your booking
We will send you an email to tell you if either of these things have happened to you.
What you need to do
Stop using any unofficial services that search for, book or manage driving tests for you.
Delete your account with the service (if you have one).
Uninstall the app or browser extension from your devices.
You can search the official GOV.UK service for cancellations at www.gov.uk/change-driving-test.
Action we’re taking to make driving test booking fairer
We monitor the booking service and we’re already taking action where people are breaking our terms and conditions. Since the rules changed, we have:
cancelled 450 driving tests where we have identified that they have been booked or managed outside of our rules.
suspended online access to book and manage driving tests for 4,034 driving licence numbers where unusual activity was detected
reported and had 17 apps removed from the Apple and Google platforms for breaching our terms and conditions
reported accounts to social media platforms – accounts are already being removed
Why you are not allowed to use unofficial services
Using unofficial services gives an unfair advantage to people who can afford to use them. They also add more load to the driving test booking service, making it slower for everyone to use.
How to find a test the official way
The only official way to search for an earlier or later driving test is using the GOV.UK service at www.gov.uk/change-driving-test.

Thank you.
