🚨 DVSA ENFORCEMENT: Driving Test Fraud – Court Cases & Compliance Tips

The DVSA has published its September 2026 update on driving test fraud, highlighting the consequences for those who attempt to cheat the system.

⚖️ In this latest update:

🔹 Court case: A man received suspended prison sentences after attempting to cheat his theory test using a Bluetooth device and later arranging for someone else to take the test on his behalf.

🔹 The consequences: Both offences resulted in suspended prison sentences, 360 hours of unpaid work, rehabilitation requirements and £2,610 in costs.

🔹 Reporting fraud: The DVSA explains how to report suspected driving test impersonation and what information to include to help its investigation.

👨‍🏫 For Approved Driving Instructors (ADIs): We all have a responsibility to uphold the integrity of the driving test and help learners gain their licences honestly. While waiting times remain a challenge, cheating is not the answer.

The message is clear: driving test fraud can have serious legal consequences.

🚗 Not sure if you can fit through the gap? Don't rush it!

One of the biggest mistakes when learning to drive is trying to squeeze through a tight space without giving yourself enough time to decide.

Instead:

👣 Ease off the gas
👀 Assess the space
🚗 Adjust your position
🧠 Decide whether you can safely get through

Even losing a couple of mph can give you valuable extra time to make the right decision.

Don't create a gas zone when you need a thinking zone.

When learning to drive, spotting the roundabout is only the start.

In this lesson, I’m teaching how forward planning can help you approach a mini roundabout more smoothly and give you more time to deal with what’s ahead.

I have recently been contacted by several learner drivers from around the UK, including Liverpool, Leicester and Glasgow, who have alerted me to Facebook and Instagram accounts claiming to be Navigator Driver Training / myself and offering driving lessons.

I have also been told by learners that payments have been requested for lessons which subsequently did not take place.

PLEASE BE AWARE:

📍 I am based in Cardiff, South Wales.
🚗 I do not have instructors working for me under the Navigator Driver Training name.
🌐 If you want to contact me about driving lessons, please use my official website and complete the contact form.

IMPORTANT:

❌ If you are contacted by someone claiming to be Navigator Driver Training and asked to pay for driving lessons upfront, DO NOT PAY.

Please check that you are dealing with the genuine Navigator Driver Training before making any payment.

I have reported the relevant Facebook and Instagram accounts to the platforms. Unfortunately, the accounts remain active at the time of posting.

Please share this post, particularly if you know learner drivers who may be looking for lessons. It could prevent someone from losing money.

I have been advised by a few learners drivers around the UK, Liverpool, Leicester and Glasgow, to name a few. That there is a page on Facebook and instagram claiming to be myself and charging for driving lessons and then not turning up.

I am based in Cardiff and do not have any instructors working under my driving school name.

Please be aware that if any one contacts myself for driving lessons I will always direct to the official website to fill out a contact form before committing to any sort of payment.
If you are asked to pay for lessons upfront. DO NOT PAY!!

Facebook and instagram have been informed but are refusing to remove these fraudulent pages.
