Schools go back next week, which means the short-hop school run is about to start again. Those journeys are hard on a car in a way long drives aren't, the engine rarely gets fully warm, which is tough on the battery and the exhaust.
Three things worth two minutes this week:
Check your tyre pressures (they drop over summer and the doors sill sticker tells you the right numbers)
Top up your screenwash!
Have a look at your wiper blades before the wet weather arrives.
All free to check, all cheap to fix now rather than in October.
