This transit custom was brought in running in limp mode.
A proper understanding of the fault codes is very important, and utilised to guide testing - nope it doesn’t need a mass air flow sensor.

With the right knowledge and tools we quickly found a boost leak on the intercooler, got it replaced and back on the road again.

This transit custom was brought in to diagnose a non-start (non-crank) issue, however it was an intermittent problem that may only persist for a few minutes at a time, and not so frequent to occur, and guess what…. No fault codes to guide any testing.

Intermittent faults can be a nightmare at the best of times, but with some persistence and not giving up we were able capture a few electrical tests that helped guide our investigation, and tracked the cause to be water ingress into the one of the connectors of the engine ecu which corroded away a pin for the circuit that controls an important power relay.
I’m actually very surprised this was able to work at all and only cause an intermittent problem 🤔

Proper fault diagnosis done ✅ repairs done ✅ and now back on the road again 💪
