I’ve not posted for a while been busy at work and with the family at weekends 🫨 here’s some jobs I’ve done lately 👇

Ford fusion injector seals because of exhaust smell in the cabin, these can be a pain but came out and cleaned up ok 👍 the customer was told the smell was coming “somewhere from the back probably a pipes fell off” they probably didn’t want to do the job, no smell now 👌.

Qashqai for lower arms + front discs and pads supplied by the customer these were definitely overdue, 📍church Eaton.

Kia sportage for trailing arm bushes, these haven’t had a MOT advisory for two years since I said they need doing 🫣 and they were nearly completely separated. 📍 penkridge

Peugeot for a front wheel bearing, nice and quiet after 👌. 📍Coven

Andy’s oven cleaning van for a heavy clutch and a engine service, this clutch wasn’t clearing correctly causing crunching and difficulty selecting gears, typically the diaphragm fingers were worn new clutch and its shifting as it should. 📍unit.

I didn’t get a picture when I serviced this horse van, customer did though 👌.

Our Wolverhampton 3.5T stallion box has had a full check and oil/filter changes.

This box is ready for the season ahead and it’s for sale.

It was Featherstone day yesterday 📍 🔧

Peugeot partner for a cambelt and major service inc all filters all definitely due.

Peugeot 2008 for a minor service I identified a worn ball joint when checking it over.

Astra for a strange fault, it was struggling to start when cold but once it had started once it was fine all day. The spark plugs were worn so fit new ones and the compressions were fine. I sampled the fuel and it smelt really bad not just off but a very strange smell.

It had quarter of a tank so I took it with permission 😆 and brimmed it with shell v power to treat the system. I had confirmation from customer this morning it started first turn of the key 👌👌

Normally Kingfisher Tyres does lots of late night callouts, last night he needed one after his van wouldn’t start!

Luckily Mercedes van and truck parts are 24 hours and are only up the road from him 👌.

He needed a new voltage limiter as it wasn’t giving the starter motor 12 volts, I was more than happy to help as he’s always available whenever me or my customers need tyres.

I managed to dodge most the rain this week luckily 👌 I don’t take many pictures in the bad weather.

Peugeot 2008 for suspension knocking investigation, only the driver could hear it and the rest of her family said she was hearing things 😂 I could hear it and identified a worn antiroll bar link ball joint. Happy customer 👍

Ford focus for drive shaft seals, I like to fit genuine if they’re reasonably priced there were. I also did an inner cv boot while I was on after getting permission from the customer.

Peugeot 208 for non start, this had been left for 12 months while the customer was in Australia.
As expected the battery was faulty so I fit a new one and blew up the tyres aswell as checking the levels under the bonnet so it can be took down the road for a mot. 📍Penkridge

It’s been a wet few days ☔️☔️ but I just put my waterproofs on and carry on.

Ended last week with starter motor packing up on my van luckily it was at my unit so best place for it to happen really, it has been on 10years/175,000 miles. Van starts better than it ever has now.

Golf minor service Cannock this one definitely needed doing and found a broken exhaust clamp which I did at the same time.

Jaguar starter motor I managed to fit it in last minute for a lovely couple in Featherstone, it was a oil one with a power steering leak directly above the area.

Last picture is a turbo pipe on a Honda i forgot to get a pic of the car, he’s had a few mechanics look at it with no luck, cutting out, smoking black and blue, running lumpy and really loud whistle like the turbos had gone.

After looking into it turns out it was a turbo pipe had blew completely off but with all the undertrays and bumper you couldn’t see or really hear a location. I put it back on with a new clip and it drove perfectly, customer was really chuffed saved him a lot of money vs scraping the car. Result.

It’s been a busy few weeks since I last posted.

Peugeot bipper for a new water pump and alternator weirdly enough the customer said it hadn’t been over heating even though it had not impeller left, the alternator was noisy aswell.

Golf for the work I recommended from the service rear brake flexis, abs sensor.

Nissan x-trail for a non start in the morning, one of the yellow or orange (not sure which) breakdowns had been multiple times and tested the battery and alternator saying they were tip top, well my battery tester showed the battery was only working at %70 not good on modern stop start cars, my suspicions we’re confirmed when I removed the battery it was under powered and not even a stop start battery!! All the gear no idea comes to mind.

Dacia stepway for its annual service and front discs + pads and rear wheel cylinders. I flagged these up as advisory’s last year they were due as suspected, all done ready for its mot.

Here’s a few jobs I’ve been up to lately,

Transit custom for the infamous wet belt this one was in good condition but well worth changing 📍 unit

Suzuki swift for some brake pipes, they burst as I took them off so very lucky they got them changed 🙏 📍great wyrley.

Chevrolet Orlando for a engine radiator I put a sealer in this about 3 months ago to get them by after expensive mot repairs, it finally burst luckily I could get one as parts for these can be awkward. 📍unit.

Fiesta for a major service I’m supprised it wasn’t misfiring as one of the spark plugs ceramic had fractured and dropped luckily I checked them. 📍Norton canes.

Golf for a major service this was a new vehicle to the customer with lots of service history, unfortunately the pollen filter had been ignored and the fuel filter housing had not been cleaned before having a new filter fitted. It’s all sorted now and is booked in for a few other repairs.

Vw transporter for rear discs and pads + calipers, I didn’t get this one sorted till after dark but that’s no bother. 📍near Weston park.

Ive been working in the snow the last two days, some customers have said they were surprised I didn’t cancel.

I would only cancel if I couldn’t get parts or it was unsafe to get to you and do the job. 👌❄️☃️🌨️
