Many are launching products, we prefer to prove them first ….
We could have had these on the market a year ago - BUT WE DIDN’T!

Throwback to November 2025 when we visited to inspect our underbody protection after a full year on test.

Anyone can design and launch a product, but how will it perform after months of real-world abuse? That’s the unknown.

That’s why we don’t launch products until they’re proven.

And where better to test them than on a Grenadier that’s used 2–3 times every day, training everyone from complete beginners through to Mountain Rescue teams on their BORDA courses?

Rocks, ruts, mud, recoveries and constant off-road use. Exactly the conditions our underbody protection was designed for.

After a year of punishment, we went back to see how it was holding up. No controlled demonstrations. No carefully chosen test routes. Just genuine day-to-day abuse in one of the UK’s toughest off-road training environments.

Because when we launch a product, we want to know it works long after the marketing photos have been taken.

So what should test next? 🤔😂

A competitor hinted we chose the wrong material for our underbody protection…

So naturally, Chris organised a completely unnecessary boys’ trip with a .30 calibre rifle and a bit of science. 😅

The rifle was powerful enough to go straight through a single plate of both materials, so they stacked 3 plates of each together to better show how the materials behaved under impact.

What made it interesting wasn’t whether the round passed through — it was how differently the materials absorbed and dispersed the energy. 😎

The stainless sample failed dramatically, while the duralumin absorbed the impact far more effectively and stayed intact for significantly longer.

A fun test - yes! A boys trip - Absolutely. 😂🔫
But also a fascinating demonstration of why engineering and material selection are rarely as simple as “harder equals better”.

First week in June, Chris is loading up the 110 and heading north to Scotland to visit a Defender specialist currently rebuilding all 3 Defenders 👏
We’re supplying some OREsome kit them including lighting packages, rear steps and our new stainless steel rock sliders 💪😎
In fact… these MRT 110s will be getting the very first set of our new stainless steel rock sliders, with Chris personally delivering them 👌

Are your headlights road legal?

Most people never notice this little arrow on a headlight lens… 🧐

That small marking tells you the lamp is correct for UK roads and fully MOT compliant. It’s one of the easiest ways to spot the difference between properly approved headlights and cheap imports that simply won’t pass inspection. 🕵️

New product… but how should the step look? 👀

We’ve been working on a new stainless steel rock slider with a modular removable step system.

This is just a quick mock-up using some smaller tube we had on the shelf, but the concept is there.

The goal is to keep the strength and clean look of a proper rock slider, while adding a removable step for easier day-to-day access.

Now Chris is keen to have your input…

• Tubular?
• Laser cut + folded?
• OEM style?
• More aggressive off-road look?

The removable design means you can run them as clean rock sliders off-road, then bolt the steps on for daily use.
