🏃‍♂️ We’re taking on the Great North Run!

For anyone who hasn’t seen our previous updates, this year four of us from Tyne Valley Motorhomes - Peter, Simon, Liz and Jonathan - are taking on the Great North Run, raising money for the brilliant Daft as a Brush Cancer Patient Care 💙

And for Peter, it’s been quite a journey to get here.

A year ago, he wouldn’t have called himself a runner. When training began, 2km felt like a real achievement.

Yesterday, he ran the full distance of a half marathon. 🙌

From those first short runs, gradually building up the miles, dealing with the aches and learning along the way, it’s pretty incredible to look back and see just how far he’s come.

And every one of those miles has a purpose.

Daft as a Brush provides free transport for cancer patients travelling to and from hospitals across the North East for their treatment. An amazing local charity that makes a genuine difference to people at an incredibly difficult time.

With the Great North Run now getting very close, we’re all putting in the final miles and getting ready for the big day. 🏃‍♀️🏃‍♂️

The Great North Run has become a bit of a family affair this year. 💚

While I’m getting ready to take on the Great North Run, Noah has decided to take on a challenge of his own by running 4km in the Junior Great North Run! 🏃‍♂️

With less than three weeks to go, he’s already putting the work in, heading out for training runs and slowly building up towards the big day.

Watching him train has made this whole experience even more special. Four kilometres is a big challenge for little legs, but he’s determined to give it his best and, most importantly, he’ll be doing it for a brilliant cause.

Just like our Tyne Valley Motorhomes team, Noah is raising money for Daft as a Brush Cancer Patient Care, helping support the incredible work they do transporting cancer patients to and from hospital for treatment across the North East. 💚

We’re incredibly proud of him for taking this on.
