KGM Actyon in with us for a maintenance wash and a small stone chip repair.

This vehicle was ceramic coated from new around a year ago elsewhere, using another well-known coating system.

It’s always interesting for me to see how different coatings are performing in the real world after 12 months or so. I’m obviously very familiar with how Wax is DEAD coatings behave on the vehicles we look after, so seeing other systems gives me a useful comparison.

Without naming brands or criticising anybody else’s work, I have to say I came away from this one feeling very confident in the coating system we choose to offer at Atlantic Detailing. The finish and behaviour after a year wasn’t quite what I’m used to seeing from the Wax is DEAD coated cars that return to us for maintenance.

The customer was also looking for somewhere new to maintain the vehicle after being quoted considerably more elsewhere for a maintenance wash. We were able to take care of this for him at a much more reasonable cost, along with repairing a small stone chip.

For me, ceramic coating isn’t just about the day the vehicle leaves the studio. How it performs months and years later — and offering sensible ongoing maintenance to look after that investment — is just as important.

Another lovely car now cleaned, checked over and back looking its best.

One of many job updates I need to share! I’ve been extremely busy lately and, as I predominantly operate as a one-man business, keeping up with social media isn’t always easy. So I’ve got quite a bit of catching up to do…

Rare Porsche 944 S2 Cabriolet ✨

This lovely 944 came to me with dull, tired and ageing paintwork. Like many red cars from this era, the paint had badly faded over the years, with areas turning pink and even white.

The transformation started with a full deep clean and decontamination, removing decades of built-up grime and contamination.

All of the original PPF sections were also carefully removed, as after so many years they had deteriorated and were well past their best.

Multiple stages of paint correction followed, carefully restoring the depth, clarity and richness of the paintwork and bringing that beautiful red back to life.

Once restored, everything was sealed in with Wax is DEAD Supreme 5 Year Ceramic Coating, providing long-term protection and helping preserve the finish we’d achieved.

The wheels were also polished and coated to complete the transformation.

An increasingly rare Porsche, now looking absolutely stunning again. 👌

And yes, I normally cover number plates in my photos — but with CAB 944S on a 944 S2 Cabriolet, I think this one had to stay! 😎

A little bit of British motoring history… 🇬🇧

It was a pleasure to welcome this classic Mini into the studio for protection.

This latest addition belongs to one of our valued local returning customers, who wanted his newest pride and joy protected to the same high standard as the rest of his collection.

It’s been a little while since I’ve worked on one of these, and it was a real reminder of just how much character these iconic cars have.

Westfalia Camper Van – Ceramic Coating Refresh

It was great to welcome this Westfalia camper van back to the studio from Brighton.

We originally carried out a new vehicle detail and ceramic coating on this camper around five years ago using our previous coating brand. After years of adventures and regular use, it was time to refresh and re-protect the paintwork.

Audi Convertible – Hood Restoration, Paint Correction & Ceramic Coating

This beautiful Audi convertible visited the studio for a complete exterior transformation.

The work included a deep clean and protection of the fabric hood, a two-stage paint correction to restore gloss and remove defects, before being protected with our Wax is DEAD Supreme 5-Year Ceramic Coating for years of durable paint protection.

A nice personal touch to this job was that the owner travelled over from Eastbourne and was actually my manager when I worked as a windscreen technician over 25 years ago. It was great to catch up, and it also reminded me just how long I’ve been working within the automotive industry.

Sometimes it’s worth asking questions…

The owner of this brand-new Fiat 600e initially opted for the dealer’s paint protection package. After a short time, she began to question whether the protection had actually been applied and brought the vehicle to us for an independent inspection.

Following our assessment, we highlighted several observations that raised concerns about the level of protection present. Armed with that information, she returned to the dealership, who subsequently agreed to refund the cost of the treatment.

She then booked the Fiat 600e in with us so we could protect it properly.

Not every transformation needs a full detail or ceramic coating.

This customer from Bolney wanted to improve the look of their car by getting rid of the factory chrome. We wrapped the window surrounds and rear bumper trims in gloss black, giving the car a much cleaner, sportier finish.

It’s one of those subtle changes that completely updates the appearance without permanently altering the vehicle.

Another vehicle in from one of our long-standing customers, who makes a 2+ hour round trip to Atlantic Detailing and has trusted us with around 10–15 vehicles over the years. That loyalty really does mean a lot.

This new Ford Transit Hybrid arrived in this stunning grey, which looks fantastic… but it’s one of the most unforgiving colours to perfect. Every little mark and haze shows up, so achieving a flawless finish takes time and attention to detail.

This Porsche Boxster was in with us for a 2-stage paint correction on behalf of a local prestige car sales specialist.
