What a couple of weeks it’s been!
Apologies to all the customers awaiting quotes, yet to be booked in or waiting for their vehicles to be finished - I’m trying to get caught up. Day job has had be spread super thin.

Thankfully has been able to come up and help me out and shout out to for the assist with jobs in the Teesside area.

Thanks for bearing with me these past few weeks, your loyalty means a lot.

Whilst draining the oil on a routine service, heard a little clink in the drain pan. Fished out part of a timing chain guide 😬 lots more bits found when stripped down.

Customer left the car with me for a few days.
Timing chain, guides, sprockets (with VVT camshaft adjusters), water pump, cam cover gasket, thermostat, coolant fl**ge, oil pressure sensor.

Lengthly job but saved a fortune if the guide failed.

It’s a cold one! Few diagnostic jobs keeping me busy this evening. Hopefully weather improves slightly ready for the weekend. Some binding brakes on a Fiesta, faulty ABS sensor on a Astra ready for their driving test next week 😬, cracked alloy on a A class and finally a misfire and coolant temperature sensor on a 2003 Golf V6.

Busy evening but no rest for the wicked and all that!

Don’t tend to have many chilled days and usually working on a Sunday. So to not actively book work in and have a chilled Sunday is rare.

Glutton for punishment! Another late night finishing off a clutch on a Hyundai i10. Stripped down Sunday but noticed hairline cracks in the flywheel. New one ordered from and fitted to get the customer back on the road for community work in the morning. Topped off with a cup of to warm me up!

🚙 🔧 💦 Customer's A-Class was losing water and the low coolant light was on. Replaced expansion tank, water pump, and auxiliary belt - finished just after midnight! 🧟‍♂️ Worth it to get them back on the road.
Bring coffee and snacks or maybe just avoid me today 🙏🏼
