Thank you to Bude & Stratton Branch Royal British Legion and Poppy Wave Bude for all you do to mark Remembrance Day for Bude & Stratton.

We shall remember them.

• 11am, Friday 11 November - Parade, Bude Triangle
• 9.30am, Sunday 13 November - Stratton War Memorial, followed by service at St Andrew's, Stratton
• From 10.30am, Sunday, 13 November - Parade, The Strand, Bude followed by a service at Bude Methodist Church (circa 11.15am)

Bude & Stratton Branch of the Royal British Legion will also be lighting up the War Memorial on Shalder Hill at dusk, on Friday 11 November and Sunday 13 November, in remembrance of all those who have fought for our country.

A lot going on locally over the last few days in Bude. Meeting yesterday with Maritime Manager to look at our harbours assets. We have commitment from Cornwall Council that they will continue to support Bude Harbour, but will be seeking ways in which to make it more operationally viable - a lot of which is down to sand management around the lock chamber so that the lock gates are able to open without the need to clear so much sand using diggers. We also talked about the Breakwater and its mechanical strength/condition. Bude Bude-Stratton Town Council members have shown interest in this and will be talking soon with the Environment Agency and Cornwall Council to better understand the impact to Bude if there is any further damage to the structure. We also did a short walk around the harbour and had good conversations with local stakeholders.

Bude Waveriders Hosted Surfing England Junior Surf Series contest ‘ITS ON’ Sunday 23rd October

Unfortunately due to high surf conditions which are deemed unsafe for the under 12 and under 14 categories the Surfing England junior surf series will not be held on Saturday 22nd October, however the great news is we will be holding the event on Sunday 23rd October which was the reserve date sent out to all the competitors earlier on. We will be starting with the under 14 boys 4 heats and then moving into the under 12 boys 4 heats. Looking forward to seeing you at with Widemouth Bay, near the Widemouth Bay cafe 8:30 AM checking for 9 am first heat in the water.
