Not every power problem is in the ECU.
This Exige initially produced 313 HP on a representative dyno run, but there were issues to address before getting the most out of the calibration.
The supercharger belt was slipping and beginning to shred. After the customer had the belt serviced, we tested the car again with no tuning changes—and power increased to 325 HP. A clear reminder that mechanical condition matters just as much as the software.
With our custom dyno calibration and the rev limit extended to 7,000 RPM, the final result was:
313 HP — Initial baseline
325 HP — After belt service, with no tuning changes
373 HP & 446 Nm — After tuning
That’s a 60 HP improvement overall, with 48 HP gained over the repaired baseline. These weren’t cherry-picked numbers from one exceptional pull, either: back-to-back runs produced 373–374 HP as temperatures increased.
There’s still one issue to address. The fitted “cold air intake” is drawing hot air directly from the engine bay, with intake temperatures reaching around 45–50°C during testing. We’ve explained this to the customer, who will be relocating the airbox to draw in cooler air. The figures above were achieved before that change.
At Lukos Engineering, we don’t just flash a file and chase a headline number. We investigate what’s holding the vehicle back, explain what needs attention and validate the results on the dyno.
