BMW E46 M3
Another E46 M3 through the workshop to have various damage and rust issues sorted out. The main reason for it coming in was a front end crash which resulted in more or less everything on the front being replaced. The second main issue was a common rust issue on these where the rear panel rusts.
Front end had a new bonnet, front slam panel, all news rads and AC condenser, most plastic brackets and air ducts and every rusty bolt or broken clip was replaced for new. The wings had some chips and a dent on the drivers side repaired and painted. Headlights were given a full overhaul, casings cleaned, new lenses and seals, brackets plastic welded back on saving customer some money and new hardware. What a difference a pair of headlights can do to freshen up a tired car. All fluids and AC gas redone after parts fitted. Front bumper had the common underside cracks plastic welded and reinforced with Fusor 2 part plastic repair glue to prevent them recracking. The rest was all buffed back to bare plastic, primed and painted before being refitted to the car.
On to the common rear panel rust, the two access holes have two rubber grommets which rust out. Inside where the boot rubber sits was also badly corroded so we decided to replace the whole panel with a genuine BMW part. Once the new part was fitted we painted the whole rear panel and lower quarter panels for colour blends. All rear end brackets, fixings and the rear bumper were all freshened up with new hardware and all cleaned prior to fitting.
Lastly to finish the overhaul tidy up, we had the wheels refurbished with new genuine centre caps and M gel stickers along with new shiny chrome kidney grilles. Car was then sent to the lads at Superior: Valeting & Detailing to give the rest of the tired looking paint a polish with GYEON UK ceramic coating aGYEON UKThe Carbon Black paint now looks epic!👌🏻
Felt good to get my hands on a E46 M3 again and to be trusted to bring some fresh life into it, maybe time to start restoring this again?👀
