Today is the last time I will be filling my car with fuel from the pumps.
I will be switching to an EV as of tomorrow, everything is in place for the change, home charger on order, energy supplier chosen, apps downloaded.
The switch to an EV has taken me longer than it should, but the time for me is right. EV's are not as expensive as people might think.

Interestingly enough.....

From the pumps this morning I added enough fuel to last until tomorrow, for this I paid £20 and got 129miles from it.

When I make the switch, I will be able to get 270miles for £5 when charging at home, this is a huge saving for me and a bonus for the environment.
The 3p a mile will still mean I will be saving money, fuel from the pumps is heavily taxed and as consumers we pay the price.
27000miles a year means around £810 on top of my VED which, still means I will save on average £2000 a year.

Who taught you to drive on a motorway?

Managed to get back from London safely, but, the journey was incredible.
The amount of people hogging the middle or 3rd lane at 60mph, a few of them almost caused incidents, you can see other vehicles bunching up waiting to get in line to overtake, this caused a few drivers to become impatient and take risks, squeezing into small gaps to get past, almost leading to incidents.
There was also quite a few that just gave up and undertook them, again almost leading to incidents.
Then you had at least 3 or 4 drivers that thought it was ok to weave in and out of the traffic, travelling way over the limit, undertaking and overtaking as they went.
Drivers emerging from slip roads and changing lanes not checking mirrors or blind spots.
This is nothing to do with who taught them to drive, or who passed them on the test, this is a choice the driver makes.

Experience
Confidence
Awareness

Driver education is crucial to making our roads safer, but, once educated, we still have a choice to make, we do the right thing, or we dont, but, either way, we, as the driver have to face the consequences of our choices, good, or bad.

The fuel prices are at a ridiculous point, people are panicking buying, prices are sky high, the fuel you are filling your vehicles with was refined weeks ago and none of it came via the strait of Hormuz.
People are feeling the pinch, the cost of living is soaring and now fuel prices.

Found this particularly interesting, it sheds light on the whole process.

The guidance driving examiners follow when they carry out driving instructor tests and checks in Great Britain. It's sometimes known as the 'ADI 1'.
