Hi guys, update time:

So I'm sure lots of you have been wondering what is happening and when will the new outfit open. The answer to that in short term is very soon. We have been waiting on a government department to allow the change over of the lease. This was said to take six weeks maximum, even in the current covid climate. Ours took nearly twice that, with it finally being granted yesterday. So the doors should be open again any day now. It's the end of an era for Westside Motors, and the beginning of a brand new one for S.L. Automotive. I hope you all continue to support them as you have us and I wish them all the very best of luck for the future. Thank you once again for all your custom over the many years. Their new signage is up and looking brilliant, and even includes a little nod to the old westside logo.

Update:

Hello everyone. I know a lot of you have asked and wondered as to what might happen with our premises going forwards, and it is good news.

Westside Motors has closed and will no longer trade.....but there will be a business here and it will run in a very similar manner. Sam who has worked for us for some time now is taking it over with his soon to be wife and father. If you have been in to us in the last 18 months there is a very good chance that Sam has worked on and repaired your vehicle. You are in very good hands. It's really lovely for us to know that what was our family business will now become their family business. There is quite a lot to complete from a legal aspect and changes to M.O.T licensing, so this may take a couple of months. I will make regular posts here as things progress to keep you all up to date.

I will now be returning here as a customer and i really hope that all of you do too.

So today is that day, after 42 years and four premises we close the doors for the last time. This is Gary and twenty years ago when we came to the wylds road site he was the first person through the door. Twenty years later and he is the last one out. I want to thank all of you for being such wonderful clients for all of these years and I wish all of you the very best for the future. I know most of you are wondering what will happen with the business going forwards and I will have an announcement on that soon. Ian, Lin and Sam. Westside Motors

To all of our wonderful clients:

It is with deep regret that i write to inform you that Westside Motors will be closing at the end of February 2020.

This isn't a decision that we've taken lightly or that has happened suddenly. Due to the low numbers of qualified technicians and even fewer coming through in training, workshops in general are struggling. We are sadly no exception to this rule. We have pushed forwards for the better part of sixteen months with a reduced team never doubting that we would soon locate new members. This sadly hasn't happened. Everyone has stepped up to deal with the extra workload but ultimately we have reached a point where that is no longer viable.

We would like to thank you all sincerely for all the support and continued custom that spans over Forty years. We have been very lucky to have such a wonderful client base, many of whom we now call friends.

BIG BOSSMANS, BIG SEND OFF

Phil's funeral will be held on Friday the 7th of February at 2pm at St.Marys Church, Bridgwater. He will then go on to be cremated at the Sedgemoor Crematorium.
This is going to be a day out celebration, rather than a funeral.
Dress code is 'Smart/casual/party' whether that be a smart suit a glam dress or anything inbetween. we're just trying to avoid the standard black attire. Lets give him a good one.

It is with great sadness that I write this, but yesterday Phil the big boss man passed away. He will be missed by us all so much.
