But, How Does It Work? 🧠💬🔍👁️📖
▪️ The Deposit
The deposit is a non refundable payment of £5,000, which is typically around 3–5% of the overall project cost and I think that’s pretty reasonable. It secures your build slot in the queue and also gives me a little protection should you decide to withdraw from the project further down the line.
▪️ The Wait
I don’t give start or finish dates anymore, which is simply a lesson I’ve learned over the years. Building a rolling home comes with countless variables and setting rigid dates can very quickly lead to disappointment when, in reality, some things just take the time they take.
While you’re patiently waiting for the nod from Mr. Supertramped, use that time to start gathering ideas, sketching layouts, exploring designs and beginning to visualise your dream rolling home.
▪️ The Contract
When your time comes, you’ll receive a contract in the post outlining the figures and all the important Ts and Cs. Have a good read through, sign it and send it back to me with love and joy, of course.
▪️ The Base Vehicle
Over the years I’ve sourced plenty of base vehicles for customers and it works beautifully, saving you from running around trying to find the right vehicle or, even worse, accidentally buying yourself a rusted out lemon. I inspect each vehicle properly, skip the nonsense and arrange to have it delivered to HQ on a lowloader , making the whole process as simple and stress free as possible without you even having to lift a finger.
▪️ The SketchUp 3D Model
Once we’ve got the base vehicle and collaborated on all your ideas, I’ll build everything into a 3D model in SketchUp so we can fine tune the layout and make sure we’re happy with how everything works before we lift a single tool.
▪️ The Build
Then it’s time to turn SketchUp into a real life rolling home. I’ll send you a £5,000 float invoice for materials and start ordering everything we need, keeping detailed notes and receipts along the way so you’ll always know where your money is going. When the float starts running low, I’ll simply send the next invoice.
You’ll also receive labour invoices from me monthly, usually between the 25th and the 5th.
▪️ The Process
This is where I ask you to trust the process and let me do what I do. What you’ll get from me is a build filled with passion, care, love and a little spectrum magic. In return, all I ask is that you don’t poke, push or prod along the way, because ultimately it only slows everything down.
You simply cannot rush art.
▪️ Don’t Be A Dick
And finally, the most important rule of all… don’t be a dick.
Be kind, be patient, and treat me with the same respect & language that I’ll always give you in return. Do that, and we’ll have a beautiful time creating something truly incredible together.
If, however, you do decide to be a dick during the build, I reserve the right to load your unfinished rolling home onto a flatbed, send it straight back to you and hand you an invoice for “dick delivery”, along with anything still owed.
Life’s far too short, so be kind, do what inspires you and don’t be a dick.
▪️ Taking bookings for 2028, with just two build slots remaining.
I Appreciate You All
