🚨 WOULD YOU KNOW? - Dashboard Warning Lights

You’re driving along and suddenly a warning light appears on your dashboard…

Would you actually know what your car was trying to tell you?

Passing your driving test gives you the freedom to get behind the wheel – but being a safe driver is about much more than simply knowing how to drive.

Those little lights can mean BIG messages.

🔴 Oil Pressure – Stop safely and investigate. Low oil pressure can cause serious engine damage.

🔴 Battery/Charging – There could be a problem with the battery, alternator or charging system.

🔴 Brake Warning – It could simply be your handbrake, but it can also indicate a problem with the braking system.

🟠 Engine Management – Something isn’t quite right. It could be minor, or it could need urgent attention.

🟠 Tyre Pressure – One or more tyres may be under-inflated. Don’t just ignore it – check them.

🔴 Engine Temperature – Your engine could be overheating. Find somewhere safe to stop and allow it to cool.

And remember, red generally means something needs immediate attention, while amber/yellow usually means something needs checking – but the exact meaning and action can vary by vehicle, so always check your vehicle handbook.

At Drive It, we’re not interested in teaching someone just enough to scrape through a driving test.

We want our learners to understand the car, recognise potential problems and have the knowledge and confidence they’ll need long after the L plates come off.

A massive congratulations to camera shy Ashley from Taunton, who has earned that all-important FULL DRIVING LICENCE following some fantastic coaching and support from Drive It Caroline!

Sometimes the road to a pass certificate has a few more twists and turns than we’d like. A previous test result might not have gone the way you hoped, but ultimately it’s what you do next that really matters.

Ashley picked herself back up, carried on working with Caroline, learned from the experience and came back determined to get the job done with her test fee covered by Drive It.

And this time…

9 TESTS. 9 FIRST-TIME PASSES. WHAT A WEEK! 🚗

Another week comes to an end at Drive It School of Motoring, and this is one we’re particularly proud of…

🏆 9 car learners took their driving tests this week.
🥇 ALL 9 PASSED FIRST TIME!

That’s nine people who started the week as learner drivers and are ending it with a full driving licence and a whole new level of freedom and independence ahead of them.

And while we love celebrating the passes, for us it’s about much more than the result on test day.

It’s about helping our learners develop the confidence to make their own decisions, deal safely with the unexpected and become drivers who are genuinely ready for life on the road without an instructor sitting beside them.

A massive CONGRATULATIONS to all nine of this week’s first-time passers. You’ve worked hard, listened, learned and delivered when it mattered. Enjoy that licence - you’ve earned it!

And, of course, a huge well done to our brilliant Drive It instructors too. Another week of fantastic coaching and some very proud instructors!
