We are devastated and saddened to share the news that one of our most loyal, dedicated and truly committed employees James ("Jim") McAndie passed away earlier this week.

Having been with our company for over 26 years, Jim was such an integral part of our family business, we have lost a truly exceptional employee and a very good friend.

In the 90’s Jim worked in our Joinery and Building business then with our Removal & Storage division, where Jim was one of the most widely travelled and vastly experienced employees. There were not many places Jim had not been to, nor many items of furniture that Jim had not moved, from single items to complete houses. Nothing was any trouble to Jim! The pride he took in his job was clear to see and inspiring to many.

In 2014, Jim moved onto our coach hire and holidays division, where he relished the role of coach holiday tour driver. His love for travelling was extended further and his tours took him all over the UK, Ireland and Europe. Jim’s love of the job shined through on every tour and passengers would board as passengers but would most certainly depart at the end of the tour as friends.

Jim will be sorely missed by us and everybody who knew him.

We wish to express our sincere condolences to Jim's wife and all of his family at this very difficult time.

ROBERT WILLIAM BLACK 31/12/43 – 9/8/20

Thank you to everyone who has sent us cards and messages of condolence, which have provided us with some comfort at this difficult time.

The funeral will take place this Friday (14/8/20) however, due to Covid restrictions, it will be a private ceremony.

The cortege will be doing a drive past of various places of interest and we invite friends, neighbours, staff and anyone else wishing to pay their respects to line the following locations from approximately 1.55pm to 2.20pm:

• Latch Road, Brechin
• Double D***s, Brechin
• Airlie Street, Brechin
• Unit 9 Brechin Business Park, Brechin
• Clerk Street, Brechin
• Glebe Park Car Park, home of the much loved Brechin City FC.

Thereafter to Brechin Cemetery.

We would kindly ask that you respect the social distancing requirements for the drive past and at the Cemetery.

Robert William Black 31/12/43 – 9/8/20

On behalf of William Black & Son Ltd (Black’s of Brechin) and my family, it is with great sadness that I write to inform all staff, business colleagues and our loyal customers of the passing of my father, Robert William Black, better known as Bob Black. Bob was a Director of Black’s of Brechin and the 5th generation of our family business.

My father dedicated his whole life to our family business and having personally been involved in the business since I was 12 years old, progressing through all aspects of our business, we have spent many years together. Not only a father, grandfather and a loyal & dedicated person who had the company at heart through the good times and the bad, he was my best friend.

I would like to thank all our employees for their support and loyalty shown as well as our customers who have supported our family business over the years.
