Let’s talk about saving money which let’s face it, everyone wants to.
One of the biggest things that I and I’m sure many other detailers face is people questioning the cost of services...
Below is an example and this is purely my opinion.
You go to a drive thru car wash and you pay £6, and you’re there for 10 mins.
This works out at £36 per hour. (Prices have gone up, so I'm rounding it up).
A local car wash uses, cheaper chemicals which can lead to damage in the paint such as chemical burn.
The wheels are rarely cleaned thoroughly and the car is never fully dried.
Attention to detail per car is almost nil.
Then look at a valetor/detailers price, using a maintenance wash (as example) with price ranging around £20, and they have the car an hour n half which works out roughly £13.50 per hour.
The car goes through a full multi stage safe wash, using PH neutral dedicated products, the odd alkaline or Chemical item is used if necessary, this is still safer for your car.
This is done by someone who takes pride in their work, and the smaller details, that would normally get missed, are completed 10/10. The car will also stay cleaner for longer and will also look a lot cleaner due to the products used.
So with the above when it’s broken down like that please tell me what is actually better value for money?
Also would you go to the drive thru once a week, which again increases the costs. Where as done properly ( depending on driving conditions) can last up to 4 weeks. Again saving more money.
