Health check showed issues with engine mounts and front axle centre arm ball joints.

Authorised work: New bmw engine mounts and control arms supplied & fitted, customer also asked for ZF8 gearbox & Rear Differential Services to be carried out also.

Rear differential showed excess metallic material so we do not think the differential has a long life ahead of it.

BMW M340i G20 9k Xdrive

Major service time for this lovely 3 series which is a j*p import. Customer reported it had a Mahle oil filter, we recently posted about the massive issue that these filters have.

Only 700 plus miles later, we removed the oil filter (which was a Mahle) and found the o-rings had failed. Luckily we managed to fish out the broken pieces from the oil filter housing.

BMW 520d F10 B47 70k

This 5 series with us for preventative maintenance procedures.

Swapping out the pan for a new ZF unit and renewing the ‘Lifetime fluid’ 🤪 for new using our dynamic service. New Liqui moly oil throughout the gearbox, torque converter and cooler, this ensures the gearshifts are at their very best for years to come, do not wait for your gearbox to show signs of wear.

Even if your gear shifts have become noticeable, this doesn’t mean all is lost. We perform standard and dynamic ZF gearbox services on a daily basis to suit all budgets.

We have carried out thousands of these services and we have customers drive to us from all over.

Please ensure your enquiries have your reg and mileage so we can make sure we quote the correct service your bmw requires with the correct parts.

Our recommendation is every 60-80k miles or 8 years old for the ZF gearbox service.

This vehicle also had a differential service, fuel filter and brake fluid service with the service history uploaded via the BMW AG Server.

BMW 120d F20 80k

The car didn’t do anything wrong.

Well, everyone always loves to blame the car right, however simple maintenance was neglected and now the current owners has a large bill to pay to rectify the issue.

The car came to us from another garage, the car’s brakes locking on intermittently, this usually happens in the rain due to the massage function carrried out by the dsc.

I knew what the fault would be in this car from the fault description before it even arrived, but hey, you never know with cars, could be anything.

I’ve seen this fault for many years and most garages throw multiple parts at it to rectify it, with no effect at all.

Our simple process:

Simply check the service history, no sign of a brake fluid service carried out. Stage 1 completed. Zero maintenance on the brake fluid, simply reset because it’s a ‘nothing service’

Check the bulkhead trim, this has the bump in it, a modified trim to stop interference with resovoir. Stage 2 completed.

Check fluid moisture content, 4.0% off the scale, stage 3 completed.

Check brake calipers and gActronics LTDcylinder fluid ni***es are not seized. All ok. Stage 4 completed. (Very important step as we cannot bleed the circuit post repair if this is an issue)

Remove dsc unit from the car because it will have corroded/sticky valves from lack of maintenance. Actronics LTD worked there magic for us again and confirmed the fault on both circuits.
Refit the repaired unit. Stage 5 completed.

Pre bleed bleed brake system, run two flushing cycles via ista test plan, then a post bleed to confirm no air in the circuits. Stage 6 completed.

Road test the car, no faults, methodical process from diagnosis to repair completed. Customer happy, the car will be regularly serviced as per the condition based requirements from now on 👍🏻

BMW X5 30d 79k F15 Xdrive

Standard timing chain job, plus new rocker cover.

This one customer complained of a ticking noise from cold, on strip down it seemed to noise was the lower chain tensioner, the which had no tension at all, upper chain was slack as normal, however we do not think this was the cause of the noise.

Repair to our usual high standards, car all back up and running with zero noise, actually very quiet, we was very pleased with the results for the customer.
