The DVSA are changing the test classes of zero emmisions vans weighing between 3501KG-4250KG. These are now being moved into class 7. It will enable you to take these to a class 7 test station, instead of having take them to an ATF station. This enable us to carry out the tests now. See the link below for further info:

This is where the fragments of rubber/belt have came from in the previous post. This is why we recommend changing your engines oil regularly, using correct oils and checking your wet belt regularly.

Here's another example of engine caviar. Wet belts break up,deteriorate and block the oil pump strainer. This can result in loss of oil pressure and cause serious expensive engine damage.

The Role
As a Vehicle Mechanic, you’ll be responsible for carrying out servicing, diagnostics, and repairs on a wide range of vehicles. From routine maintenance to complex fault-finding, you’ll ensure every vehicle leaves our workshop safe, roadworthy, and in top condition.

Key Responsibilities
• Perform servicing, inspections, and mechanical repairs on cars and light commercial vehicles

What We’re Looking For
• Qualified Vehicle Mechanic (NVQ Level 3 or equivalent preferred)
• Proven experience working with a variety of makes and models
• Strong problem-solving and diagnostic skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Full UK driving licence

Nice bit of engine caviar?
This is unfortunately one of the side effects of running a rubber belt in engine oil. The strainer on the oil pump gets blocked preventing it doing it's job properly. You may think this vehicle must have a lot of miles on it, but we have seen this occur lots between 20-40k miles.
