Lizzie was taught by instructor Damien here at Blue School of Motoring, and everything she learned throughout her training was put to the test today in style. The sunny weather had brought out a busy mix of traffic, pedestrians and cyclists, filling Trowbridge’s roads with the kind of lively, unpredictable conditions that demand constant vigilance and sharp hazard perception. Lizzie handled it all with impressive calm and confidence.

“The conditions today were genuinely demanding — busy roads, blazing sunshine and some very narrow lanes that required real precision and nerve. Lizzie dealt with all of it beautifully. A thoroughly deserved pass — well done from your instructor Damien and all the team at Blue School of Motoring!”
Perhaps the most testing element of Lizzie’s drive came on the narrow lane sections of the route — tight, winding roads where positioning, speed management and forward planning are absolutely critical, and where the bright sunshine made visibility and judgement all the more challenging. To navigate these confidently and safely whilst managing a busy test environment around her speaks volumes about the quality of Lizzie’s driving.

Very Well Deserved! Lottie M Passes Her Driving Test in Trowbridge with Only 3 Faults
We are so pleased to share another fantastic result from Blue School of Motoring this afternoon. A huge congratulations to Lottie M, who has passed her driving test at the DVSA Trowbridge Test Centre with only 3 driving faults — a genuinely impressive score and a result that reflects everything she has put into her training.

Lottie was taught by instructor Ruth Etches here at Blue School of Motoring, and the pair clearly made a wonderful team. Ruth’s patient, thorough approach helped Lottie develop into a confident and capable driver, well prepared for whatever the test might bring — and this afternoon it brought quite a variety. With the sunshine drawing pedestrians and cyclists out onto the roads in numbers, Lottie had to demonstrate real alertness and awareness throughout, reading the road ahead and responding calmly and safely to a lively mix of hazards.

“A very well deserved pass, Lottie! She handled every situation with great composure — the sat nav section, the manoeuvre, the busy roads — all done brilliantly. All the best from your instructor Ruth Etches and everyone at Blue School of Motoring!”
The independent driving section of Lottie’s test was conducted using sat nav, guiding her through a varied route covering a range of road types and real-world hazards. Following directions whilst managing the road around you is no small task, and Lottie handled it with confidence throughout. Her manoeuvre — a park on the right — was delivered cleanly, safely and with real assurance. Three faults across all of that is an excellent result.

We are absolutely delighted to share this brilliant result fresh from today. Huge congratulations to Cerys from Calne, who has passed her driving test at the DVSA Chippenham Test Centre with just one driver fault — a truly exceptional achievement, and one made all the more impressive by the conditions she faced on the day.

Cerys was taught by instructor Rich Sage here at Blue School of Motoring, and the quality of her preparation really showed when it counted. The test got underway mid-afternoon, which brought with it the added challenge of school run traffic through Chippenham’s busy streets — a test of patience, observation and hazard awareness that many experienced drivers would find demanding. Add to that a spell of light rain and a route that mixed fast open roads with town centre work, and you have a genuinely challenging set of conditions.

“To pass with one fault in those conditions — school traffic, wet roads, fast roads and town work all in one test — is a fantastic result. Cerys handled everything with real composure. Brilliant drive.”
Cerys also completed a reverse bay park manoeuvre during the test, executing it cleanly and confidently. Put it all together — the traffic, the rain, the varied route, the manoeuvre — and you have a performance that any new driver would be enormously proud of. One fault. Just one.

A Family Double! Jill from Ilton Passes Her Driving Test First Time in Somerset

What a result — and what a story! We are thrilled to congratulate Jill from Ilton, Somerset, who has passed her driving test first time. And for those who have been following our recent success stories, you may recognise the surname — Jill is the wife of Paxton, who also recently passed with Blue School of Motoring. What a household!

Jill trained with instructor Tony Cross here at Blue School of Motoring, the very same instructor who guided Paxton to his own fantastic result. Tony’s patient, encouraging style clearly works wonders, and Jill responded brilliantly — building her confidence and skills steadily throughout her lessons before delivering a superb first-time pass on test day.

Passing first time in Somerset is something to be enormously proud of.
