A rather spicey CHECKMATE edition Gen1 enters our void, this has got a serious performance spec list… It features a LINK ECU with custom map accomodating upgrades such as a GRS intercooler, smaller supercharger pulley, camshaft upgrade, lightened flywheel…

To anchor this missile up, it features slotted discs clamped by big Brembo calipers and PBS race pads.

Suspending the thing at speed are BC Racing coilovers, R56 trailing arms, uprated anti roll bar and rear links.

It was missing however one vital component!… All those upgrades and to make the most of it, those exhaust gases need to escape quicker, so replacing the restrictive factory exhaust manifold with a MILLTEK variant complete with sports cat was the way forward, loads more horses released from the stable and a naughty exhaust note to compliment the JCW cat back system.

We price match competitors for both Scorpion and MILLTEK systems and when purchased through us, we’ll fit for just £50+vat WHILE YOU WAIT and include better quality metal gaskets both upper and lower.

Power steering hard lines care not for mileage or age.

This beautiful 30k old Cooper has decided to spring a leak from its plumbing.

It would be lovely if it was just the typical fluid feed pipe as it would be a messy in-situ 1 hour service at most.

The least frustrating way to access and replace these hard pipes is to remove the subframe, which isn’t such a chore compared to the workout of the owner’s wallet which sings not so merrily to the tune of over £500 with hardware JUST on these pipes alone, GENUINE from BMW/MINI…

It’s of great reassurance to all involved in this surgical process that the quality of these genuine parts are outstanding compared to aftermarket, which from experience have very poor fitment or don’t fit at all, so we’re no longer offering cheaper alternatives.

Generation 1 (R50/R52/R53) 2000-2006 MINIs are the main business model and are what we most enjoy working on.

However we never turn our nose up to general maintenance of the later Generation 2 and 3 cars.

This Cooper S drop top has done the rounds in Europe by its recent new owner. Dressed in black with aero skirts and a JCW interior package… it looks the part.

Many more miles are to be thrown on the car but first we need to give it a fresh start with new ignition components, oil, CORRECT filtration and brakes! The cooling system has been neglected in its past as we pull out clear juice!

A few hours in our care and it goes off into the wild once again!

‼️ FUEL DELIVERY ‼️

A request that’s being made more often from us… and the fact is, we’ve found the goodness of changing out these ‘lifetime’ fuel filters to be hugely beneficial. It’s incredible how the original units after 20yrs still flow strong.

A result of changing these out results in faster fuel priming upon ignition meaning better starting with less cranking times, also less potential fuel starvation when giving it the full Heinz 57 on the slip road entry.

This car came in for this service as well as its original top mounts being replaced for quality aftermarket units, a camshaft position sensor and its original timing chain tensioner being replaced for another genuine unit.

We accommodated the owner who wasn’t local, with a lift to and from the local town while he waited for us to carry out the work in one sitting.
